Shorter Safaris Are Now a Reality with New Direct Flights
An African safari is more attainable than ever, thanks to new direct flights from major US and international airlines. This means you can spend less of your valuable PTO on layovers and more time experiencing the continent's iconic wildlife and vibrant cultures.
In fact, a one-week safari is now a viable option. United Airlines will start nonstop flights from Washington Dulles to Cape Town on November 18th, while Delta Airlines has announced a new nonstop route from Atlanta to Cape Town beginning December 17th. These new routes complement existing direct flights, such as Newark to Cape Town (United), JFK to Nairobi (Kenya Airways), and Atlanta to Johannesburg (Delta).
As a Dinogo A-List advisor, my company Alluring Africa specializes in creating personalized itineraries that effortlessly connect you with local transfers upon arrival, ensuring you dive straight into the safari experience while minimizing jet lag and maximizing your time on the ground.

To make the most of your journey, we recommend concentrating on a single country, such as Kenya or South Africa. By limiting your locations, you’ll pack and unpack less, saving precious time usually spent traveling between lodges. With a minimum three-night stay at each destination, you’ll enjoy two full days for unforgettable activities like game drives and guided bush walks.

We can guide you on the optimal times to explore each country or region for the best wildlife viewing experiences. Travel tip: peak times to visit Africa often align with long weekends like Thanksgiving and Memorial Day, allowing you to maximize your annual PTO. Plus, traveling overseas during these times helps you avoid domestic travel crowds. Africa also serves as a fantastic spring break getaway for families with children.
