The flagship W Hotels property on the West Coast has received a stylish makeover.

A fresh chapter begins at one of the most iconic W Hotels locations in the brand's portfolio.
This week, W Hollywood showcased the outcome of a renovation designed to solidify its position as the West Coast flagship lifestyle hotel. This update is part of a broader initiative across the W Hotels brand to revive the "wow" factor that critics and even Marriott's leadership have noted has diminished over the past decade.
"One of the aspects I’m particularly excited about is W, which I had the least understanding of prior to the Starwood acquisition," Marriott CEO Anthony Capuano mentioned to TPG earlier this year. "However, the direction and momentum we have with W are quite impressive."
Guests arriving at W Hollywood will find a refreshed atmosphere designed to reflect the feeling of a home nestled in the Hollywood Hills, which can be seen from many guest rooms and suites. The renovation, crafted by the Rockwell Group, draws inspiration from the colors of Southern California’s natural landscapes and nods to Hollywood’s film and music heritage. W Hollywood is owned by hospitality investor Trinity Investments, with fund manager Oaktree Capital Management as part of the partnership.

"With the unveiling of the newly envisioned W Hollywood, this moment signifies much more than a mere makeover — it's a redefinition of our distinctive, unconventional luxury approach," stated George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader at W Hotels. "This hotel is designed for the contemporary traveler seeking authenticity, creativity, and a profound connection to Hollywood's cultural essence. We have curated an experience that embodies the lively spirit of this iconic locale while establishing a new benchmark for what W Hotels stands for globally."
Upon entering W Hollywood, guests will encounter an expansive Living Room, W's unique twist on the hotel lobby. This space embraces Southern California’s famed outdoor charm with a garden-inspired design featuring green velvet seating, a sunken conversation pit, and a rounded staircase reminiscent of the Hollywood Hills’ distinctive terrain. Additionally, the Living Room hosts nightly food and cocktail events through "There, There," a guest experience designed to evoke the feeling of a dinner party showcasing local flavors.
The Living Room bar is adorned with a grand fireplace and 35-foot, 3D-printed concrete drapes. Yet, don’t let the industrial concrete detract from the serene garden atmosphere: Behind the bar lies The Garden, a courtyard adorned with trees and greenery, offering ample seating to relax in the essence of Hollywood while enjoying bites from an all-day menu. If this captures the vibe of the Hollywood Hills, you may find yourself browsing Zillow listings for nearby homes during your meal at The Garden.

The 319 refreshed guest rooms and suites at W Hollywood now boast a color palette of blues, yellows, and creams. With stylish wall coverings, metallic touches, curved seating areas, and spacious window seats, even the standard rooms exude a California vibe. Treat yourself to one of the 12 suites that include living and dining spaces, plus his-and-hers closets. For a truly lavish experience, consider the Oasis Suite, featuring outdoor seating for 50, or the Mega Suite, which comes with an outdoor lounge and a library equipped with billiards and other games.
Venture to the rooftop of W Hollywood to discover two standout bars named Sunrise and Sunset. Sunrise showcases a vibrant color scheme of oranges, pinks, and sandy hues, while Sunset offers a more subdued blue ambiance. Sample a cocktail from each and see if you lean more towards morning vibes or evening allure.
"We are excited to welcome guests back to the newly reimagined W Hollywood," stated Nick Rimedio, general manager of W Hollywood. "Our team is committed to delivering a unique take on luxury through exclusive programming, distinctive design elements, and exceptional service that only a W Hotel can offer."
Nightly rates at W Hollywood begin at $264, or 36,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
