The Importance of Offering Students Travel Opportunities This Holiday Season

Travel serves as the ultimate form of education. From a young age, I’ve cherished my mother’s wisdom about how traveling broadens our horizons and enriches our lives.
In today’s world, polarization is rampant. Technology allows us to create echo chambers, leading to a narrower worldview. This limited perspective breeds fear and fosters a divisive mentality, framing life as a battle between ‘us’ and ‘them’.
I envision a different future, a sentiment echoed by Greg Sullivan, co-founder of Dinogo. That’s why we launched Learning Dinogo in 2009. Believing travel is the greatest teacher, we established a nonprofit to fund travel for underprivileged high school students, allowing them to connect with peers and explore possibilities beyond their immediate environment.
The self-assurance they develop through new experiences positively influences both their lives and their communities.
Since our inception, we’ve impacted over 1,500 students; upon returning from their Learning Dinogo journeys, these young individuals are transformed. They begin to recognize the opportunities that exist around them. The newfound confidence they gain through these experiences significantly enhances their lives and positively influences their communities.
In a world fraught with division and educational funding cuts, students lacking the means to travel are in greater need of these enriching experiences than ever before—and your support is vital. By contributing to Learning Dinogo, you empower the next generation of leaders—children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to explore the world. Taking these first-time travelers out of their comfort zones, accompanied by guides and educators, promotes cultural exchange and helps them learn to coexist peacefully with their neighbors and the environment. Please consider making a difference in these young lives by donating to Learning Dinogo this Giving Tuesday. Your generous support is essential for equipping today’s youth with the tools to effect the change we wish to see in our world.
