The most fashionable new hotels and spas for 2022 have been unveiled.
The hospitality sector is thriving once again, with a wave of exciting new hotels and spas opening around the world in recent years.
Architecture and design magazine Dezeen has spotlighted some of the most stunning new designs, revealing its 2022 awards shortlist.
The shortlisted entries were chosen from over 5,000 submissions across more than 90 countries, with the US, UK, and China leading the pack. Notable contenders in the interiors and architecture categories include a strong representation from Europe and North America, particularly Mexico.
Here are seven of the best-designed new hotels and spas for 2022, as selected by Dezeen. The finalists will be announced in November this year.
Bath & Barley (Brussels, Belgium)
Beer spas, where you soak in tubs filled with hops, herbs, and water, have been a longstanding tradition in the Czech Republic. Despite Belgium's rich beer-making heritage, Bath & Barley is the country's first-ever beer spa.
The Antwerp-based design agency WeWantMore had a remarkable foundation to work with: a centuries-old building in the heart of Brussels' historic city center, featuring a breathtaking vaulted cellar. The renovation incorporates traditional materials like copper, grain, and stained glass, crafting a serene environment for guests to relax in wooden baths before enjoying a selection of draft beers.

Schwan Locke (Munich, Germany)
The most stylish way to experience Munich's Oktoberfest is undoubtedly staying at a hotel-home blend, just a few minutes from the Theresienwiese grounds, offering 151 spacious studio apartments.
Shared amenities include a gym, co-working space, coffee shop, retail outlets, and the BAMBULE! restaurant-bar, operated by the team behind the local Michelin-starred Mural restaurant.

The Ennismore design team drew inspiration from the iconic Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, renowned for his innovative use of geometric shapes.
The 240-room hotel boasts a rooftop pool and taqueria, alongside a pizza terrace and a slice shop.

The space also features site-specific installations from local contemporary artists such as Abel Macias, Ben Medansky, Morgan Peck, and Judson Studios.
The rooftop pool offers sweeping views of the city, but for a more private experience, guests can opt for the Pool Suite, which includes its own full-sized indoor swimming pool.
