This Legendary Royal Caribbean Vessel Is Set for a $100 Million Revamp — Here’s What You Should Know
Royal Caribbean unveiled the Allure of the Seas back in 2010, and now, nearly 15 years later, this Oasis Class ship is undergoing a major transformation.
The over $100 million “revamp,” as Royal Caribbean describes it, will include more than 35 bars and dining options, resort-style pools on a redesigned pool deck, exhilarating racing waterslides, a NASA-themed escape room, and much more. The upgraded ship — long-awaited, with original renovations scheduled for 2020 — is set to set sail in April 2025, offering voyages to popular European destinations like Marseille in France and Palma de Mallorca in Spain.
“Allure will be transformed to showcase the very best of Royal Caribbean and what guests adore,” stated Jay Schneider, the chief product innovation officer at Royal Caribbean International. “With exciting new features like the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, alongside experiences that repeatedly spark cherished memories… Allure will offer even more of what makes it a beloved favorite.”

Children are also a priority, with a new Splashaway Bay that includes kid-friendly slides, water cannons, drench buckets, and more. An additional pool area will offer in-pool loungers and daybeds, catering to even the most discerning adult guests.
The cruise line will enhance indoor entertainment with a new Apollo 18-themed escape room, a glow-in-the-dark laser tag arena (set to be located on a revamped ice rink), and upgraded kids' club facilities.
Additionally, Royal Caribbean plans to refresh its dining options, introducing a Caribbean tiki bar named the Pesky Parrot, a new sports bar and arcade, and a southern comfort food venue called The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar, which is currently exclusive to two of the line’s newer ships, Wonder and Utopia of the Seas.

Currently, the Allure of the Seas can accommodate 5,496 guests at double occupancy and boasts many of Royal Caribbean’s iconic features, including a zip line, an AquaTheater, a carousel, and an outdoor Central Park situated in the ship's center.
Next spring, the Allure will cruise through Europe before making its way to Fort Lauderdale in November 2025.
