Ecuador
Introducing a new addition to the Galápagos: Aqua Expeditions, renowned for its luxurious river journeys in Southeast Asia and the Amazon. In May, the company launched its latest oceangoing vessel, the Italian-crafted Aqua Mare — a 150-foot, four-deck superyacht offering an intimate atmosphere with just seven suites. Amenities include a movie theater, an outdoor fitness area, satellite internet, and gourmet dishes by Peruvian chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. All-inclusive itineraries feature kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, and wildlife-rich hiking. Looking to indulge? The Owner's Suite boasts 860 square feet of luxury.

The gentle Río Magdalena, once a crucial transport route, will offer its first multiday cruise next year aboard an all-suite vessel from AmaWaterways, featuring excursions and experiences curated by the South American operator Metropolitan Touring. The journey begins in Barranquilla and concludes in Mompox, a town now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historic architecture and significance in Simón Bolívar's liberation efforts across Latin America. The seven-night itineraries will also include kayaking, hiking, and birdwatching opportunities.
Navimag, the Chilean ferry operator, has recently expanded its fleet with a new ship accommodating 244 passengers. Courtesy of NavimagChile
While Patagonia is typically traversed by land, travelers aboard the new custom-designed ferry, Esperanza, will be treated to breathtaking views of breaching whales, glistening glaciers, and snow-capped mountains as they journey along southern Chile's coastline between Puerto Montt and Puerto Natales. This four-day, thousand-mile adventure sails past Chiloé Island and some of the nation's most famous national parks. Passengers can expect cozy cabins with private bathrooms, hearty meals, onboard yoga and tai chi sessions, and an all-English-speaking crew during peak season.
