Top 11 Hotels in Singapore
Singapore stands out as a luxury destination, from its state-of-the-art airport—consistently ranked the best in the world by Dinogo readers for over a decade in our World’s Best Awards—to its diverse hotel offerings. Almost every major hotel brand has established a presence in The Lion City, and just when you think Singapore has reached its pinnacle in sophisticated accommodations, another groundbreaking hotel emerges.
On my first visit in 2019, I had the pleasure of experiencing some of the island's most luxurious venues and enjoying an authentic Singapore Sling at the Long Bar at Raffles (which was undergoing renovations at that time). I have been consistently impressed during my subsequent visits. Last year marked an exciting period for new hotel openings in the city-state, including The Singapore EDITION and Como Metropolitan Singapore, alongside many beloved classics that consistently score high in Dinogo’s World’s Best Awards and It List. Here, we’ve curated a list of the top 11 hotels that Singapore has to offer.
Capella Singapore

If you're eager to explore right outside your hotel room, this secluded location may not be ideal.
Mentioned in the “Crazy Rich Asians” book series (and appearing in the film with a cameo at the spa), Capella Singapore stands out as one of the country’s most iconic hotels. Upon my arrival in 2019, I was awestruck by the 30-acre property, surrounded by lush tropical greenery that envelops two beautifully restored colonial bungalows from the 1880s. This award-winning hotel has consistently received high praise from readers for the past four years, and it’s easy to see why.
With balconies overlooking the stunning Singapore seascape, 38 villas featuring private plunge pools, and nearly 900 pieces of art integrated into the hotel’s design, you’re ensured breathtaking views throughout the property. Along with three pools, including an infinity-edge option, and direct access to the pristine Palawan Beach, don’t miss the chance to unwind at Auriga Spa, where treatments are inspired by lunar cycles.

Essential Information Before You Travel
Be Ready for Year-Round Tropical Heat
Singapore's climate is hot and humid, so dress appropriately with light, breathable fabrics. Don't forget a sweater or light jacket for the indoor air conditioning, which can be quite strong. The seasons are categorized as 'wet' (September to February) and 'dry' (March to August), but even during the dry months, occasional rain is common. Be sure to grab a hotel umbrella when you head out for your adventures.
English is One of Singapore’s Main Languages
Unlike many Asian countries where language barriers can pose challenges, English is widely spoken in Singapore, facilitating easy navigation for tourists. You'll also encounter Singlish, an informal local dialect that combines English with Malay, Chinese, and Tamil influences.
Prepare to Embrace the “Chope-ing” Culture
“Chope” is one of the most memorable words in Singlish, representing both an action and a cultural practice. During my first visit to a hawker center, I saw packets of tissues and other items like umbrellas placed on tables, marking them as reserved while diners queued at food stalls. Don’t hesitate to claim your spot — it’s a customary ritual here.
Our Selection Process for Hotels
With one of the most dynamic hotel landscapes in Asia and the world, selecting where to stay in Singapore can be a challenge. The hotels featured on our list have achieved recognition on our editor-curated It List or have been voted for by countless T+L readers in our annual World’s Best Awards.

The hotels included were selected based on her personal experiences and research, along with first-hand insights from T+L editors and contributors.
