Top Honeymoon Locations in the U.S. for $20,000 or Less
The impact of COVID-19 has reshaped many traditions, including how couples celebrate their weddings. For instance, last year saw many opting for smaller ceremonies, leading to an average wedding cost of around $20,000—a significant $8,000 decrease from 2019. While some couples chose to scale down, others decided to forgo a ceremony altogether, heading straight to City Hall and embarking on their honeymoon instead. If you and your partner are considering spending your entire wedding budget on a honeymoon, jewelry brand Shane Co. has compiled a list of the top 10 destinations in the U.S. where $20,000 can stretch the furthest.
Savannah, Georgia, tops the list. Renowned for its stunning architecture, charming landscapes, and deep historical roots, a two-week honeymoon here could cost around $11,000 for luxury accommodations and dining, about $300 for flights (depending on your departure point), and $1,200 for tours and activities, leaving you with an impressive $7,500 for additional expenses.

While your hotel expenses for two weeks would exceed $10,000, you’ll still have around $4,000 left to indulge in activities or souvenirs when you're not soaking up the sun in this beautiful Atlantic destination.

Although a full two-week stay isn’t feasible, Shane Co. estimates that a 13-night visit at a four-star hotel would cost around $14,000, plus approximately $3,770 for meals and $1,366 for activities.
Honolulu also earns a noteworthy spot as one of the most romantic honeymoon destinations worldwide. With $20,000, you can cover flights, meals, and a 12-night stay at the Royal Hawaiian resort in the Hawaiian capital.

Shane Co. gathered information from travel platforms like Expedia and Tripadvisor to calculate the average costs of honeymoons, covering accommodations, activities, flights, and more.
