Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub. Die Natur ist einzigartig, die Mitarbeiter der Lodge sind wahnsinnig nett, die Zimmer sind schön und die Pferde sind in einem sehr guten Zustand. Sie sind perfekt für die langen Ausritte trainiert und es gibt tolle Galoppstrecken. Nach dem Reiten kann man sich in der Sauna entspannen und es gibt leckeres Essen im Restaurant.

The staff at Patio Lodge were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Our Horseback ride for 1.5 hours on the Lusitano Trail was a fantastic experience. As beginners, the ride was appropriately tailored to our level of skill. Our guide Durlav was excellent, providing training and guidance along the journey as needed. He shared interesting insights about the island and its history throughout the ride. Would definitely recommend!

I booked an all-inclusive trip to Azores with WWE, which was hosted at Patio Lodge. Angelique is the BEST hostess, an absolute treasure at Patio. She ensured our activities were coordinated on time and accompanied our group on several lovely adventures around the island. The focus of the trip was horseback riding, and you will not find better scenery in the world to explore on horseback. Be honest about your riding ability, as the Lusitano horses are fast moving and the trail guides need an accurate gauge on rider ability before matching you with a horse and trail plan. Don't miss the caldeira hike around the rim of the volcano. Thanks to Angelique and the courteous staff at Patio, I've fallen in love with the island of Faial and hope to return someday.

Für uns wahr es eine sehr erholsame Zeit hier. Die Ausritte sind in toll. Viele Routen möglich mit Infos zur Insel. Die Appartements liegen sehr schön mit guter Aussicht. Zur Abkühlung diente der Pool oder gleich das Meer. Danke an das ganze Team, sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Patio Lodge in Cedros, Faial was a wonderful place to spend time on Faial. The staff from the stable hands to the owner were all very nice, helpful and friendly. The meals we enjoyed there were also excellently prepared and served in the highest of style. The rooms are modern and well equipped. We were on the island as general tourists rather than for the equestrian activities offered by Patio Lodge but the other guests we met that were there for the horses all seemed very pleased as well. All in all a very good value experience.

We were two active couples in our 60's from Texas, who have traveled extensively. Patio Lodge was a lovely surprise for us. I knew it would be away from the business of the town, but the country side and views exceeded my expectations. The lodge holds 4 rooms as described on the website. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. Each looks out on the ocean, which is visible from just about everywhere. We only had one dinner here - the seafood of the day was the best fish I've ever tasted. Our breakfasts were delicious. Most days we were exploring the island and didn't get back until nearly sundown, when we'd sit out on the wall with a bottle of wine and watch the sun set. The bartender was always ready to provide a delicious drink. Everyone was so friendly. Victor -the owner - is so personable. We did not ride the horses, but those doing so seemed to love it. Brownie the dog was a sweetheart and Max the cat a favorite of my husband. They are currently building a pool. We loved this place and plan to go back.

I stayed at Patio Lodge for 3 days in June. The lodging was spacious with everything we needed and a beautiful view of the grounds/horse corral. Everyone at Patio went above and beyond to assist us during our stay-- we absolutely loved this visit! Patio coordinated a day trip to Pico island, transfer to the Faial crater hike, a wonderful private horse back ride catered to my skill level, and fabulous breakfast and dinner. The horses and other animals (Lucky the dog, Max the cat), are clearly happy and well taken care of. The breakfast was filling and the dinner options rotated each day, all were delicious, homemade, and fresh. Don't miss the nearby view at Porto Do Eiro and be sure to pick up a map of the island at reception. We hope to return to Patio someday for more horse riding!

Patio was like visiting a friend’s place - so welcoming and warm. The staff are all so friendly and eager to please. The horses were all in such good condition and so well loved. Excellent hacks on such a beautiful island. The barn staff are all outstanding. Shout out to Deogo who runs a busy barn operation and our guide Laura! So many wonderful barn staff who work hard and always with a welcoming smile and eager to help you. Chef Jorge worked with our varying dietary requirements and took pride in preparing something we would enjoy. Carla prepared beautiful breakfasts and packed lunches. Our lovely stone cottages had everything you needed. I Especially respect that the property is deemed an “eco lodge” so lots of reminders of how to leave a small environmental footprint. The cottages did not have fans or screens so it was very warm unless you left the doors open. The cottages are a very new addition to the property so screens/fans may be upcoming. Thank you Angelique! who represented Patio Ranch and worked with Wild Women; organized and drove our group to many amazing activities - highlights were our beautiful lunches on our rides and our whale watching adventure. She was a lot of fun and worked hard to try to accommodate us all. Cecilia on Pico was a delight too. Had the time of my life on this trip!

This lodge is in a stunning location on the island immerse yourself in nature. We loved seeing the horses and the lovely Labrador. You can see a baby horse bonding with her mother. We came at the start of their season. We are a couple wanting a romantic adventure. The downside to staying here is that the staff is turning over and the food and service was a disappointment. We had to tell the staff to bring us utensils and the challenge was their English was limited . The meal I had was overcooked and was not editable. The coffee was cold and staff did not how to work the machine there needs to be training with staff . As new guests the owner should of introduced himself and checked in re how the stay was going . The rooms are clean but for a couple pulling two single beds together does not make for a romantic evening the mattress was not comfortable and the pillowswwere soft. The horseback riding was a highlight of our trip

Riding and guide were perfect, but I won’t stay again. Booked into a mini cabin off site which was full of cockroaches. Moved to a great room the next day but not refunded for the horrible Night of the Cockroaches. The included dinner was pretty bad. Staff fantastic though.

It’s not a 4*. We were at the tiny house and during the day was impossible to stay inside even for few minutes. Too hot. No air condition, ok, but you must let your customers stay inside. Not clean. We found hairs in the bathroom and in the bed. Breakfast was as 2* hotel. Very few things and flies everywhere. I understand the room is near the horses but you can’t cover the foods with with napkins.

Probably the worst place to stay in Faial. They serve you water from the tap, and say is Portuguese water, the wine is the same, the serve you the worse Portuguese wine, from a box, and say it's from Pico wine or other DOC region. They treat people with a fake smile and treat the staff very badly.
