ExceptionalBellissima esperienza in una delle ville della struttura che si trovano a pochi minuti dal punto di arrivo dei traghetti. Le sistemazioni in villa sono molto comode e ben tenute, la struttura è pulita e confortevole e gode di una bellissima vista sull'oceano. Sicuramente è necessaria una macchina ma questo vale per gran parte delle sistemazioni a Pico. Consigliato

ExceptionalBien qu’éloigné de Madalena et situé dans une zone en construction ( extension du Resort), plus appart Hotel qu’hôtel), Vinhas do Calhau est un établissement très sympathique comme sa très accueillante propriétaire. À deux pas du bord de mer et à quelques encablures d’une plage aménagée, notre appartement vue sur Pico ,avec cuisine et deux chambres indépendantes dont l’une en mezzanine, était très bien aménagé et propre. Literie très confortable , grande SdB avec douche et WC.Nous y avons passé 4 nuits très reposantes. Seul point à améliorer: la desserte des petits déjeuners, au demeurant bien fournis, sur une étagère dans le couloir d’accès au chambre: les produits frais mériteraient d’être réfrigérés. À recommander chaleureusement . Attention à l’absence de restauration à proximité. Un supermarché Continente à 10’ en voiture est bien utile!! Autre remarque : la rareté des restaurants à

ExceptionalDef refer to Susan M review below….she’s spot on. I basically was going to repeat everything she said. The design as previous post wasn’t an issue for us, just kind of deal w it. Stunning views for sure. We didn’t have a rental car upon arrival, but our check in lady got one for us, I can’t recall her name, but she was super sweet n helpful. You will need a car unless u want to walk 50 min to town. Although the walk along the coast through vineyards is nice. Overall, this was a great place to stay but secluded.

ExceptionalExcellent accommodation and location. We had a one bedroom duplex apartment with sea views and a terrace with loungers and table/chairs. The accommodation is above the old small port and offers great views across to Faial especially at sunset. The hosts were very accommodating as we had a delay in collecting car at airport so were later than planned in arriving. A standard tourist map of island had been annotated with places to eat which was very useful, also local information regarding use of the ferries was helpful. Each morning breakfast was provided in the large corridor so guests could help themselves then eat in their rooms. There is a mini bar within the kitchen fridge which was supplied with reasonable priced drinks as there are no shops nearby. The accommodation is located in the area with unique vineyards within volcanic stone walls and a few km from Madelena so a car is essential.

ExceptionalThe room was very cozy and clean. Bedroom and bathroom upstairs and kitchen and lounge downstairs. Breakfast was excellent and varied. The view of the ocean was the highlight. The hotel team was very friendly too. Special thanks to Mrs. Joana who was very kind and helpful during our stay. I highly recommend Vinhas do Calhau for everyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Pico island and relax peacefully with the sound of the waves.

ExceptionalDie Apartmentanlage hat 4 sehr schöne Suiten mit Meerblick, die zu empfehlen sind. Das Frühstück ist "basic". Da eine gut ausgestattete Küche integriert ist, sollte man aus dem Supermarkt einige Lebensmittel dazu kaufen. Die nächsten Restaurants sind nur mit dem Mietwgen zu erreichen.

ExceptionalLovely setting by the ocean among the vineyard walls; opened just a few years ago and conditions are well maintained. The apartment is spacious and includes 2 patios, the ones that face the sea have magnificant views, you can even see Faial on a clear day. The staff are incredibly helpful, helping me plan multiple days of activities even through the holidays as the island is very quiet during this time. Breakfast is brought to you, standard and enough to start the day. I would highly recommend renting a car on Pico, the hotel is about 10-15 min from Madalena and the streets and conditions are easy to drive. I truly enjoyed my stay, falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean.

ExceptionalConfesso que fomos sem grandes expectativas e fomos brutalmente surpreendidos. As condições do alojamento são completas e a harmonia dos espaços relaxante e optimizada para tirarmos o melhor usufruto do espaço. A vista é maravilhosa. Podemos passar dias sempre com um cenário de luzes e cor que não é acessível a qualquer espaço. Importante, ou o mais importante, as pessoas. Agradecemos a disponibilidade, genuidade e orientação, em particular à Ana Paula, conhecedora do Pico e dos seus encantos. Já viajámos muito e este foi um dos poucos sitios que nos sentimos em casa. A regressar. Muito obrigada.

ExceptionalA menina Ana Paula é de uma simpatía que nem tenho palavras para a descrever. Fez-nos sentir em casa, estava tudo perfeito, foi de uma grande ajuda, tivemos pena de não ficar mais dias, mas prometemos voltar em breve. O empreendimento está em expansão, mas os apartamentos existentes são perfeitos e decorados com gosto. E a vista... Muito obrigada por nos terem recebido tão bem🥰

ExceptionalWir haben die letzte nacht dort verbracht. Leider nur die letzte. Sehr schöne duplexwohnung gehabt. Sehr sauber. Sehr bequemes bett. Dame am empfang eine frohnatur Frühstück inbegriffen, was man sich holt und dann im der wohnung isst. Tolles konzept. Auswahl ist zwar nicht riesig aber man kann ja noch was dazu kochen oder einkaufen Sehr gerne wieder

ExceptionalOur first time to Pico & we packed alot into two days. Ana Paula & Joana went the extra mile to help organize transportation, restaurants & sightseeing. Their small Boutique B&B is literally right in the UNESCO Vineyards. Clean, spacious, quiet...& a spectacular morning view of the Pico mountain from our patio! And very affordable. Looking forward to going back soon.

Good+ schöne Lage direkt am Meer in der Nähe der Inselhauptstadt Madalena, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet - die großen Appartements für Familien bzw. 4-5 Personen liegen alle zur Landseite, obwohl das Haus direkt am Meer liegt und insbesondere Abends ein toller Blick über die untergehende Sonne möglich wäre, haben nur die kleinen Appartements für 2 Personen einen Balkon zum Meer, die großen Appartements haben eine Terrasse, allerdings keinerlei Meerblick und eine laut brummenden Klimaanlage auf der Terrasse, zweites Schlafzimmer in den großen Appartements ist zwar riesig, dafür ganz ohne Fenster nach außen, sonder nur mit Fenster nach innen, Frühstück relativ einfach und einfallslos

GoodWith a beautiful setting close to the ocean, we stayed in one of the new two-bedroom villas (not the hotel for which most of the reviews are for). There are some design issues including literally no where to put your luggage in the bedroom. Due to exceptionally poor planning on the designer's part, we "opted" for the floor in the main living area. The western facing decks are without any shade creating an overheated interior and a relentlessly hot and uninviting deck in the afternoon. Plantings or some sort of fabric for the shade structure will likely be added. However, the value of the existing villa is not worth the price given these issues. I offered management constructive criticism including the notion that a discount should be built into the price until these issues are resolved as I genuinely want the place to succeed. I encourage you to ask for a discount in advance if these matters remain unresolved. Twenty-four villas are in the works. Note: we were properly warned about construction noise before arriving, to be clear that was NOT an issue.
