A new category should be introduced for hotel reviews, which is to the left of "not recommended": Sam's LodgeThis accommodation is ideal for an adventure vacationer who simply wants to get to zero at the end of his trip, as a bitter surprise for a bachelor party, as a test of courage or as a film set for a horror flick.I would under no circumstances recommend Sam's Lodge to someone looking for a simple place to stay and who is in full possession of their mental abilities. My special highlight: the shower (see pictures)! If you've lost the will to live or want to try out a completely new variation of "Russian Roulette", you should lean comfortably against the not-so-clean shower wall, turn on the tap and watch the small drops that happily sprinkle towards the ceiling socket or surface-mounted vent while you don't very warm water runs down the body.Briefly about why I was there: It was the last night in Bangkok and our flight was at 11:40 p.m. So my friends and I booked a room for 1100 baht each. For me there was an additional 500 baht surcharge for the late checkout at 4 p.m. Since I was in extremely poor health, after a night with hardly any sleep, I asked if I could extend the room to 7/8 p.m. for a fee - as my friends wanted to hang around in Bangkok until we left. The answer I got was that I could book another night for 1,200 baht (100 more than the night before). When I asked whether this could be offset against the 500 for the late checkout, the answer was a clear no. As I said, I was more than a little under the weather and wanted to avoid discussions and just lie down again. What pisses me off, however, is that not only do people not accommodate, but they also try to capitalize on a situation like this.My recommendation if you end up there for any reason: take a look at the rooms beforehand. Otherwise there is a hotel next to it with a capital Q, which I think is... is in the same price range, but is closer to the word "hotel" (I only found out afterwards).

Room and bathroom were clean, wi-fi ok. In general, everything fine, but someone took some money out of locked room. Owner didnt want to investigate and just waited that me and my friend left. Take care of your belongings even in the room.

Broken fan. aircon that blew hot air, bare minimum toilet and unpleasant experience with staff led to a really bad stay.||||We also had friends helping to carry some luggage up only to be told by the staff that it isnt allowed.
