WOWWWW! Me and my girlfriend were blown away after the day spent with Hydronauts. This was the first time diving for both of us and Axel couldn’t have been any better, super chilled and knowledgeable guy. He talked through everything with us before and in the pool leaving us both feeling very confident heading into the open ocean. There was also a clear philosophy of divers being down there to observe not interfere with marine life which, coupled with the great instructors and equipment makes it one hell of a dive school.We saw loooads of pretty fish, colourful sea snails, giant pufferfish and a blue spotted sting ray. We only wish we had more time here to do the open water course. WE’LL BE BACK HERE AGAIN!!

Did my raid instructor xo program at hydronauts, with the man and the legend Raphael! The dive center is beautiful and organized, the whole team from the reception all the way to the restaurant staff are lovely and helping people. Shout out again to rafa, a true professional, who made my course interesting, educating and fun!Highly recommended guys :)

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it. Nice quiet location right on the beach and the food in the restaurant is really good. Rooms can be a little noisy at night and the room cleaning could’ve been slightly better but overall it’s a great place to stay!

Amazing experience!I started my time at Hydronauts fun diving and had such an amazing time that I extended my trip and did my Divemaster course.From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The instructors Gary and Rafa were not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional but also genuinely passionate about diving.The course was thorough and prepared us to be excellent dive pros; not just checking boxes. The course is longer than others on the island and provides more time in the water (I got 100 dives).What truly stood out was the personalized attention and encouragement from the instructors. They took the time to get to know us, offered support for challenges, and moved the goal post to continue challenging our strengths.The resort has affordable bungalows, delicious variety at the restaurant, and top notch diving equipment.I highly recommend Hydronauts!

Good location and great views. However, we felt cheated and the accommodation did nothing to compensate us. Puivir publishes that it is a hotel with a swimming pool, but it cannot be used because it is for diving classes. They invited us to go to the pools of the next-door hotels, which are chargeable!The stairs are terrible.

Friendly staff, nice location on the beach. On the other hand, the insulation was really bad, we could hear everything the neighbors said, and all the nightlife downstairs from us. The bathroom didn't smell very good and it was impossible to take a cold shower. The air conditioning wasn't very cool either.

The location of the hotel is very cool with a wonderful view of the beach. The staff is super pleasant but the big downside is the insulation of the rooms if your neighbors are talking you are an integral part of the conversation. If there is a little music outside you will have the impression that it is in your room

Nice resortRight on the beachThe rooms are clean and nice.You get a lot of business opportunities even if you don't want to dive. So it's a nice place to stay even for non-divers.We were also able to rent a scooter directly there.I recommend the accommodation :)

We took two rooms, one double and one with bunk beds because there were no more doubles left and the bunk room did not have air conditioning, the beds were super uncomfortable and they do not clean the room unless you ask.

Came to Hydronauts to do my dive masters and it was the best decision I could have made. Gary and Rafa are amazing instructors that will go above and beyond what is required of them to make sure that you are coming out of the program being the best dive professional you can be. They create such a welcoming and understanding community as well that I left feeling like I found a new family. Thank you so much for everything! I couldn’t have imagined a better experience.

Koh Tao is an Beautiful Island full of Dive centers that will take your money, take you underwater and not do much else.Hydronauts is NOT one of these places. The Extra Attention to detail they give each and every student is truly staggering.I walked into their shop as a complete new newbie to diving and left with a training level and a qualification level of a professional.This extra love, care and passion their dive shop puts into each and every student truly have left a life changing impact on me; easily a bad experience with in my first 5-10 dives could have made me abandon the Hobby/industry as a whole so I would whole heartly recommend Hydro to anyone at any level of diving.Want to go Pro? HydroScared to give it a go? HydroJust want to go? HydroHydronauts is a dive school by divers for divers and they go the extra mile to make sure you don't just tick the boxes you need to but become the best possible diver you can be, which elevates every dive experience you'll ever have again for the rest of your life.Staff is super friendly and helpful, the Hotels Restaurant makes very tasty food and the bar is a whole vibe of its own.Not everything is sunshine and rainbows and nowhere is perfect but having been to a few dive shops I can honestly say is I could only choose one it would be Hydronauts.

I would recommend Hydronauts to anybody who is thinking of diving on Koh Tao - Especially if you want to become a Divemaster.I came to to visit some friends in October 2023 who work at Hydronauts, who later convinced to do my Open Water 20. Next thing I know I was on the DMT program and had done all my prerequisite certifications at the resort, with George & Gareth as my instructors!The DMT program run by Gary and Rafa is easily the best decision I ever made and becoming a pro diver was never even on the radar. But thanks to the guys at Hydro, I completed my training in March 2024.The training is professional, thorough and I had so much fun during all of my courses and the team really put you through your paces in the best way possible. You get a real feel for the industry, and what its like to progress to become an instructor later.I had the chance to take part in wreck sites, deep dives, rescue dives, conservation dives and so much more. The knowledge of everyone at the resort is great and the partnership with the DMT program and Global Reef is a great way to get some insight into conservation and marine life.I spent 10 months in total with Hydronauts and I couldn't have asked for a better experience, everyone is lovely and I felt right at home since day one. If you have any questions about anything, everyone is more than happy to chat wether its Dave and the gang in the Office, Raffa & Gary with the DMT's or literally any of the other staff & dive instructors.They're a class group of people and I will be back! 🫡

Good room with balcony. The room has an AC, water heater and a small fridge. There is no hair dryer.This resort has a beachfront, it contains a small bar and restaurant.It also have dive pool that I think you can buy a training lesson here.For the disadvantage, this resort is far from central, however you should rent a motorcycle for travel in Koh Tao.Another thing, the toilet may have some issues, when other rooms are flushed, my room will be affected.

Simple but nice and clean rooms.Right on the beach.The balconies have a partial view of the beach.The beach is suitable for swimming, even at low tide. It is a picturesquely beautiful bay.In the lobby you can book various snorkeling trips at decent prices. And of course there is a wide range of diving options.The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and helpful.Free water refills everywhere. Top.Fine restaurant/bar with a varied menu and very, very fine food at good prices.There are several other restaurants and bars within walking distance.You can order a taxi at reception for 300 baht if you want to go to the Sairee Beach region.Or you can rent a scooter from the resort for 200 baht a day.Highly Recommended.

Recently completed my pro crossover to RAID at Hydronauts with Rafa. From my initial contact through the cross over program, Dave, Rafa, Gary and the whole team were class acts. Communication, prerequisites and expectations were clear and with a personalized touch. The XO course itself with Rafa was very organized and thorough, and even with long days in class Rafa made sure to keep things on a good pace and, importantly, with a great sense of humor.As an instructor with years of experience teaching, I can also say for those interested in completing training or fun dives, you will be in great hands at Hydro, with experienced staff, well maintained and high quality equipment, and excellent facilities for teaching. The resort is also in a beautiful location on the beach at Chalok bay.100% recommended, cheers guys

My 13 year old daughter did her junior open water 20, alone with a great teacher Florian in French. She loved it and learned a lot of things in very good conditions, first in the pool, then in the ocean.She was very comfortable with her equipment, and found the team very nice. The weather was stormy and windy but the team was able to reschedule and go to more sheltered bays.She really liked the cakes on the boat, I think she devoured the reserves.She found the dives incredible, with schools of fish, corals, rays and a magnificent slug.Thank you very much Florian😀😁😆🤟Regarding the resort, we stayed there for 1 week and had a great time. The place is very nice, the people very friendly and helpful. Chalok Bay is very pleasant and quiet. The rooms are good and functional with water bottles in the corridors to fill water bottles or bottles (which avoids new plastic bottles) 👍

What an incredible and enriching experience!I stayed at Hydronauts for five days to achieve one of my goals: Open Water. From word of mouth, this center has an excellent reputation on the island and I can see why.The training is given in small groups, with particular attention paid to each individual's pace. Here, the team takes care to share their common love of diving. I had a unique experience in the water, with magnificent fish, coral and submerged structures. I felt safe throughout the four dives. The instructor, Steven, is attentive, enthusiastic and passionate. Thanks to him and my little team for all the moments we shared.As for the accommodation, I stayed in a shared room where the comfort of the bed was basic (cheap) but the rest of the site and the sea view more than made up for it. And then on Koh Tao, you want to spend your time outside anyway 😍👌

An amazing diving experience with our instructor Steve. We had never dived but three days later we were certified OW divers. Steve was patient, kind and placed a high importance on safety and responsible diving. Hydronauts took us to some of the best dives sites in the area (according to my colleagues) and were a professional and helpful team. The rooms need a bit of care, but it’s super convenient staying on site for the OW20 course. Restaurant on site served up lots of good food and there are also numerous good alternatives within a few minters walk. FYI, You can’t swim without shoes in the bay though (due to shallow water and sharp dead coral). The team will help you book taxi or rent scooters to get to other good beaches though.All in all, I highly recommend Hydronauts diving and I recommend you ask for Steve!

Resort/rooms - the resort overall is a cute place located on a beach front with a nice restaurant downstairs and has the most lovely reception staff ever. Close to many restaurants and 7/11. Our „sea view” room had one small window overlooking the sea so if we had an option we would have picked a normal cheaper room. It was nice to have a balcony. However the rooms never get room service, so after 4 nights with 3 people in one room we were out of toilet roll, dirty towels, full trash bin and the sewer smell from the drains was outrageous. This smell was also sometimes present outside the rooms so it must be a bigger issue. I don’t believe this was worth the price we paid at all. I would also suggest that it would be nice if the restaurant below offered breakfasts too.Open Water 20 Course - 2 people out of 3 in our group didn’t finish the course because we couldn’t handle the pressure during the mask skill which we were having to do in the Ocean, while not having it mastered in confined water. We withdrew and then switched on the last day to do a Try Dive which was much better and we really did have fun with our instructor Myrren who was an absolute star.During the Try Dive we were told we can present some of the skills and get a Scuba Diving Licence instead of OW20. My sister did the skills and when we arrived back to the resort we were told that there is one more skill left to do which was forgotten about by the management. Very disappointing because we couldn’t stay one day longer to do it due to further travels planned and booked. There were no afternoon boats leaving Koh Tao to Krabi so we would have to stay one more day which simply wasn’t possible. Other options offered weren’t also viable and while we suggested some options to resolve the situation these were rejected because they weren’t convenient to the resort. So overall we had many ups and downs with this place and the service we received hence 3 star review.
