This is a one night stay that you have to do if you are on the Two Day slow boat tour to Laos. Hotel is organized when checking you in. However, always, always, be the first one at the counter, other wise you will be given a worse room. …

Bedbugs! We booked a slow boat trip from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang, if you are unlucky they let you sleep at "portside". We found bedbugs in our room, so we left the hotel and had to pay extra for another room. But we were lucky, we saw another girl from the group the next day with a lot of bedbug bites... Also, the owner tries to rip people off with his exchange rates, by saying there is no ATM to get lao kips. Actually there IS a working ATM (even on Saturday, don't believe what he says) directly at the lao border (next to the visa on arrival counter).

For a backpacker it was fine. What I don't like is the bed bugs at night. I didn't sleep well. Because they bite me overnight suck my blood. Well the owner is nice. Gave the right orientation on what to do till we get to our place. And I salute them for that. They can change money also so you don't need to worry while traveling going to Luang Prabang.

There were bed bugs in the bed. I told to the staff but they really didn't care. I changed room (no bed bugs this time but an horrible smell in the room...) The staff is very bad. Room very old. Bad breakfast ||Run away !

If you are here is just becouse you have to cross the border to Laos with a slow boat. ||So the crossing birder costs 35 us$, you need a picture and in the border and just after there is ATM and official bank exchange. So do not change money in the hotel.||The hotel is a place for 1 night. |do not expect anything here.
