Living in Bangkok means I have to find some quiet time for myself to relax and unwind from time to time, and Cast Away is such a fantastic place for that.I got myself a little hut so I can read quietly, and it was so, so peaceful. I heard almost nothing but birds singing and leaves rustling. The host was also very friendly and helpful.If you're coming here, do note that the huts are above muddy area that may be flooded during high tide and it might have a faint smell. This also means HUGE mosquitos so come prepared with bug spray.All in all, if you want to be close to nature and have quiet time to yourself, this is it. I will definitely return.

I stayed at this guesthouse for one night during my trip to Thailand.The guesthouse is about a 5-minute boat ride and walk from the pier near Wat Yai Sawang Arom on the opposite .The boat is not a regular service, so you need to ask someone nearby to arrange a boat for you.The guesthouse owner will call the boat on the way back for you.The fare is 10 baht one way.The guesthouse is surrounded by nature, and you can relax after a long day in the city.The owner is very fluent in English and can speak a little Japanese, so I had a great time talking about our countries. The food was homemade and very delicious. I'm sorry I left some food because I was full 🙏Spending my last overseas trip in my 20s at this guesthouse was a good memory.I'll use it again if I have the chance.

Homestay, good accommodations, lovely owner, three free meals. Bedclothes, blankets, towels, perfumed bathrooms, very clean shared bathrooms, complete equipment, air conditioning and hot water. The atmosphere is good and quiet. Everything is good. I recommend this one. 10 out of 10.

A very kind and beautiful family to stay with. Pantip speaks very good English and his Mom and Dad cook very delicious food. Location is perfect and everything is easily accessible and within working distance. Come see traditional Thai village life. Have a fantastic experience a 10/10 for everything. Women can come alone. It's safe, comfortable, the atmosphere is good, and the food is delicious and plentiful. This island is calm and not chaotic. But not far from beautiful cafes. I rode my bike for a short while and was impressed.

Fantastic !!Castaway Homestay must be the best stay on Koh Kret without doubt. A wonderful kind family look after you very very well. Panit will greet you on arrival, he is kind, helpful and speaks very good English. Amazing home cooked food is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is plentiful and very good quality and fresh. The air conditioned huts are very clean and comfortable with views over fields and banana plants. There is also use of a communal relaxing lounge area with big sofas, big fridge and a pool table. Toilets and showers are very clean and plenty of hot water.Once off the ferry the motorbike taxi is around 40 baht or it’s a very interesting 30 minute walk.Highly recommended to any traveller 😊We are English/Thai couple and now visit Castaway Homestay often and think of it as our relaxing holiday home 😊

This is a hidden gem that takes a quick 30-45 minutes away from Bangkok for a short stay. We booked for just 1 night but ended up 2.This place is beautiful and peaceful.The most outstanding of this place is the family who owns it. They are way beyond what you can ask for from any 5-6 star hotel/ resort. Not only accommodating, they extremely pleasantly surprised us with their heart to take care of human being not for their customers.On top of everything Pi is the host who speaks perfect English stays out of your private time but always bethere to accommodate his guests anytime they want everything.Meals are delicious and plenty. We will be back multiple times for sure!

Great food 3 meals a day, better bikes than you can rent outside, set in nature overlooking a banana garden that you can walk around. Of the best part, the owner and family are just so friendly and accomadating.

Five star rating, best home stay i have used at Ko Kret island. Breakfast, lunch, dinner & aircon room, 800 baht. Amazing value. The food was so delicious & big portions. Dinner was like a feast! I recommend Castaway to everyone.

Family-run and very much the home-stay experience that makes you feel like a local, there are so many positives it's hard to note them all. Here are some that stand out: Firefly sonatas, insect crescendos, a master chef cooking up three meals a day (included in the price - and as a vegetarian these were by far the best meals I've had in Thailand), fruit by the bucket load, security dogs with great personality, sleeping over water (stilt houses), giant geckos laughing. Panit is so helpful too, and he speaks impeccable English.

Wonderful homestay in peaceful settingWe booked two bamboo huts at Cast Away for our family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hospitality from Panit and his parents was very special. You can see that the family really care about their guests. Three home cooked meals were provided as part of the (inexpensive) room rate, and the food was simply outstanding! So much delicious Thai food! We felt very welcome.We wish we stayed longer, and next time we will. It was fun to hire cycles and explore this quaint little island.Highly recommended.

This is a guesthouse located in a garden city section on an island inhabited by indigenous people. The owner of TOKIO, Niji Jojima, who was in his twenties, graduated from the Department of English and American Literature and is a Japanophile. The owner's father is a good cook and will serve us dinner. The owner's mother is a nurse. Influenced by my father who is a weapons designer for the Thai military, the owner's younger brother is an art teacher in Cambodia.

If you are looking for peace, culture and hospitality, then you have come to the right place. The son speaks excellent English, it is wonderfully quiet. Dad cooks great and varied. Bicycles to use for free. Room includes 3 meals per day.
