Staying in Aman series hotels, you don’t have to doubt the quality, but it will make you spend more time in the hotel than you want to spend in Lijiang Old Town.

Stayed a few nights. Found the service was gracious, attentive but not intrusive, and meticulous. Thank you Aaron, warm restaurant staff, and many others on staff for making our stay memorable. One standout experience I can whole-heartedly recommend is the hotpot dinner around sunset at onsite restaurant. You don’t have to stay here to eat here. Have had many hot pots, but not like this. Old style charcoal pot, ambiance, view, music, full service thru the meal, and most importantly, the food, just magic. For proteins, try the regionally famous ribs, prepared 15+ days prior, and yak. Second favorite experience was afternoon tea in the tea house during a sudden cloud burst :)
