Go to stay every year. Small hotel. Very good service. It's a family business. The owner takes very good care of us. The food is delicious. Recommended in December-March of every year. The sunset is most beautiful.

Beautiful hotel by the sea, relaxing with a pretty swimming pool.Comfortable bungalow.Top breakfast. We also ate for lunch, the curries were very good.And above all excellent welcome, very friendly and accommodating couple of hoteliers!

Owners/employees really do everything they can to make their guests happy. Location 1.5 km from the village, therefore very quiet. Some restaurants nearby. Location is really beautiful. Spacious rooms with a good (slightly hard) bed and modern silent air conditioning, neat bathroom with lovely shower. Unfortunately, our balcony only offered a view of the neighbors' roof. Nice swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds and a sea view. Breakfast with menu on the lovely terrace. The entire resort is in desperate need of some maintenance. A bit messy here and there, such as laundry carts in the walking paths.

Wonderful peaceful property with beautiful views. Breakfast included was all you can eat, ordered off a menu. Staff was so helpful, even finding out information for our bus departure we needed when departing. Little pricey, even for the area, but worth it for a tucked away retreat. A few restaurants in walking distance and 2 beach bars just past the resort to enjoy as well.

Super nice, small, family-run resort. Really great. A highlight among the large, faceless castles in Khao Lak. You get into the sea via a staircase, next to the resort there is a long beach for walks etc. It is 1.6 km into the town. Doable on foot, but we always rent a scooter in Thailand.We first stayed in deluxe room 111. This was a bit musty and the bed linen had stains. Stained bed linen is simply not an option for us. We moved to a bungalow. Everything was wonderful here. Really clean and even in the bathroom there was no mold at all (which is rare in Thailand). The mattress in both rooms was far too hard for us. That's the only point of criticism.Tip to the host couple: Make sure to stop using “stained” bed linen. We heard from other guests that they were very concerned about their "colorful" stains on the bed linen.

The hotel is located in a wonderful location right on the beach, which promises a relaxing and pleasant stay. The family business is extremely friendly and warm, which makes you feel welcome.The breakfast was a real delight, very tasty and varied. You can tell that quality is important here. Unfortunately, these positive impressions could not disguise the rooms.The rooms were old and worn, the sheets had stains on them, which really spoiled the overall impression. A renovation of the rooms would be urgently needed to improve the standard of the hotel.Overall, the hotel is very nice and has a lot of potential, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. If the rooms were renovated it would be a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

We had an amazing week at Shambhala! Incredibly friendly staff and an exceptional breakfast with many a la carte options on the menu, both Thai and Western dishes! The pool area is very cozy and you can order a massage.The best part was the lovely staff who were so sweet to us and our baby. When we got there, there were no high chairs for babies, but they fixed that quickly until the next day. We felt very cared for and welcomed!We already miss Shambhala and would love to come back! 🥰

The Shambhala resort is very well located, in a quiet green setting and facing the sea…The breakfast is of very good quality and the staff takes great care…The bungalows are all coupled and generally in good condition.

Small, but even more delicate!When we arrived at the accommodation, the room facilities, the garden and, above all, the welcome from the hosts made us immediately feel at home.What irritated us was the stone wall leading down to the beach, which - as another German couple told us - was built due to constant sand migration in order to protect the property and thus the complex.The resort is an absolute feel-good place - great food, quiet, nice guests, great hosts. A great family business! Even a small baby chipmunk that fell out of the nest was received with a lot of love after we found it and is now being nursed up with a heat lamp and goat's milk. Contrary to our initial plan, we spent our days almost exclusively in the resort because we felt so comfortable.You can walk into the city in 10-15 minutes.The location gets a point deducted because the adjacent properties unfortunately have a lot of concrete, which the hotel itself can't do anything about.We'll definitely be back!

Nice resort. Great pool, great sea view, cleaned daily and large rooms, good food and very warm family (O, very wife and the rest of the family) who run it. Thank you for the lovely time with you. Met two very nice Bavarians and had a lovely time in the complex. Something to complain about here and there, but that's how it is in Asia. I'd love to come back!

Have visited many places and this is among the best. Comfortable beds, surrounding is beautiful, fantastic and friendly staff. Stayed here many times 2011-2012. Are back again, 2023, and it is as great as we remembered. We can warmly recommend it with all our hearts.
