Our stay at Boutique Hotel Khao Lak was by far exceeding our expectations. I stayed for a whole week with my mom. We wanted a quite place with not a lot of tourists, which was exactly what we got. Raila and all the staff was of great help from the beginning of the booking until we left to continue our journey through Thailand. The beach nearby was with only few people and there where amazing large stones at the end of the beach and also partly black sand. Raila helped us organize our trips. There was a possibility for laundry wash by hotel, we had everything we needed and beyond. This was my third time in Thailand beach location and this place was the best. Nearby is a small part of Khao Lak that has everything we needed and also there is a perfect local restaurant about five minutes away, where locals eat as well. I can't recommend this accomodation enough, it was absolutely the best.

We spent 5 nights in the hotel. The rooms are clean and well maintained and have everything you need. There is a beautiful, quiet beach right in front of the hotel. Raila and her team are super friendly and helpful. We were very very satisfied :)

Conclusion: We stayed at the MJ Boutique Hotel for three days at the beginning of our trip and we really enjoyed it. The price-performance ratio is really great. The hotel is in very good shape and the rooms are perfect. Also very friendly service. We would only see a small need for improvement in breakfast.In detail:Location:Nice little hotel on a quieter stretch of beach a few kilometers outside of Khao Lak City. The hotel is quite quiet in a cul-de-sac about 200m from the main road. It's only a few meters to the beach.Hotel:The hotel is in great shape and we particularly liked the rooms: very spacious and modern. We have seen significantly worse rooms in 4 and 5 star hotels.Service:The service, led by Raila, is very friendly and they try to accommodate all wishes. Sometimes it's a bit difficult linguistically, but that was never a real problem. For example, a motor scooter or our transfers were easily organized through the hotel.Breakfast:We still see room for improvement at breakfast. We missed a little more variety and also sweet options like waffles or pancakes. But for a few days this isn't really a problem.Leisure time:However, the hotel is not located directly on the beachfront and does not have its own sun loungers on the beach. We always walked about 500m to the left along the beach to "Nana on the beach". You could use the sun loungers for free (if you ordered drinks or something similar).Otherwise:We did our transfers (airport pick-up, onward journey to Khao Sok National Park) with the very friendly and reliable Mr. Jinda. Make contact via the hotel.

Location is more convenient if you can rent a scooter. There is a very small tourist street nearby where you can see it after an hour. There are plenty of restaurants and dining options on the beautiful beach. Rooms very clean, beach 50 meters walking distance. They certainly try to provide service, but it is more convenient if the manager is present due to the language barrier. Fortunately, they were called immediately if necessary.

Honestly, that was one of my strangest experience in SE Asia and I ain't no baby. Basically, I found myself alone in the hotel from 10pm until morning. Night service ain't there. This being said, breakfast is great and so is the staff (when around....)!

We booked 4 nights here. The rooms are super clean and the breakfast is also very good. We were glad that we weren't in such a big tourist resort. The people there are very friendly and will help with any concerns. Had a scooter and went to the waterfall, canoeing and bamboo rafting.
