This is a chain hotel that we have stayed at in various cities in China. This hotel location was superb - next to the park and short walk to Shuidong Street. Next to it is a small shopping mall and surrounding area has many eateries - we had Hakka cuisine and also HK style dim sum. The room was simply furnished but very spacious, bed was surprisingly comfortable, and it had bottled water and full range of toiletries. We didn’t have any problem with cigarette smoke from the corridors probably because the central heating was not working. They gave us a portable heater which was sufficient. The wifi was good! There were armchairs and a small tea table and our room looked out on to the Main Street. We could relax and have beers whilst people watching. The staff were really friendly! There was a Chinese pharmacy nearby with a helpful chap who prescribed good native herbal medicine for my husband’s cough and sore throat. He recovered after 2 days and we returned to thank the pharmacist. The room rate was unbelievably cheap for such a good stay.
