Stopped by on 30 May 2024 at approximately 2:00 p.m. The location is on a high place with a 270 degree view. Convenient parking. There is a restaurant and service rooms. Good atmosphere and cool weather. There is light rain.travel break Stop by to drink espresso blended coffee, it tastes good. There's a chance you'll stop by and stay overnight. Because that day we had to travel to Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park.

Staff very unfriendly. No greeting, no farewell. No thanks. Training is needed. The guests bring money. The food is good and the restaurant is nice.

Eating grilled pork, the view of Phu Thap Buek Forest Temple amidst the mist is very beautiful. The kind-hearted staff at the store kept my cell phone for me, which was super cute.

Phu Thap Boek is somewhat off the beaten track but that's exactly why it's worth visiting for a few days - especially to enjoy the cool climate and wonderful views. It is mainly inhabited by Hmong people, who are very hospitable and kind.This homestay with an adjacent café/restaurant is very professionally run by two sisters. They are extremely friendly and helpful. Their English is limited but enough to communicate the basics; it is useful if you can speak a little Thai though.The rooms are essentially cabins with a double bed, a shower and toilet, a fridge and coffee making facilities. Towels and soap were included. I think all the rooms have balconies or accessible rooftops and small patios outside with chairs and tables. There was a TV and an air conditioner in the room.There is ample parking and it's just a short walk to the main café/restaurant, which also functions as the reception.The evenings and nights here are very cold, down to 12/13 degrees Celsius. During the day it was around 27/28 degrees. This was in the middle of February. But the blankets in the room kept us warm enough at night.The café/restaurant is really good - it's clean and tidy, they have excellent coffee (proper espresso and cappuccino, not Nescafé 3-in-1) and one of the sisters cooks. The menu is very extensive and the food was great. We ate here every night (we stayed 3 nights). The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location near the highest point on this mountain range. Coffee starts at 60 Baht I think and food ranges between around 90-150 Baht.The room was 1200 Baht with breakfast, which is congee (jok) with fried eggs, toast and sausages.I would recommend a nice hike. You can walk to the main village of Phu Thap Boek, where most of the locals live, in around 1 1/2 hours. Be aware that there are steep inclines. The way there wasn't bad - the way back was tiring! But the views and the environment made it worthwhile. On the way, there are many strawberry plantations where you can buy fresh strawberries directly from the farmers. You must try them - they are really delicious and sweet. And much cheaper than elsewhere in Thailand.There is also a Buddhist temple in the main village, which is being renovated currently but is interesting and peaceful. Many people come here to learn the teachings of Buddhism (Dharma).Overall, it was an enjoyable few days - though my legs are killing me from the hike. If you're fitter then me, you'll probably be fine :)Enjoy Phu Thap Boek!
