Neil Niwas : The Green HouseDefinitely living up to the name! We fell in love with the place as we check in! Love the historical background with attention to details. If you a fan of historical building / restoration work you going to enjoyed this place. Very private and quiet setting just few minutes walking to the nearest MRT station :)Modern amenities with historical touch!Thanks Ms. Veena & Team for your warm hospitality.Definitely going to come back in the future!

A beautiful house in a central location. We learned so much about the history of the home from the host, Veena, who also helped us to plan some activities around Bangkok, including a slow boat tour. The room was spacious and the breakfast was healthy and delicious. The house has a beautiful garden and is connected to the canal. Veena is a friendly and helpful host. We look forward to visiting again.

A wonderful B&B away from the hustle and bustle of the city!I really look forward to my meal every morning.Although it is not suitable for a trip that mainly consists of shopping, it is a nice place to spend a relaxing time.The owner will give you lots of ideas for private boat tours, so I think it will be fun.You can go to the Temple of the Dawn and the flower market right away, and the subway station is also nearby, so it's convenient.

Honeymoon in Bangkok.About 10 minutes walk from the station.There is a hotel in a residential area.I really liked the Japan Day room!They made a special dessert and flower arrangement for us on our honeymoon.The room has a historical feel, but the water area was also very clean!The breakfast was delicious both days and I was very satisfied.After breakfast, the owner told us about tourist spots!Although my English wasn't good, I was happy that we were able to communicate!Thank you for your kindness.The only negative point is that because it's in a residential area, I was a little worried about the voices of motorbikes and people at night and in the morning.Everything else is very satisfying! It was a very valuable experience and I would recommend it to my friends and family!

Surprisingly well located for tourism (walking distance from Wat Arun) this gem with four big rooms is for those looking for heritage luxury and willing to feel at home rather than in hotels.

It was a special kind of accommodation. Very suitable for couples and solo travelers who appreciate special flair and personal tips. I would go to Neil Niwas again next time I stay.

The manager was super nice and offered us a detailed tour around the historical estate, which is located in a quiet part of town and is very tranquil itself - we got lucky that there wasn’t any other guest on our first night of stay. Location wise, it is absolutely not in a tourist-populated area and is so peaceful throughout the day. It was almost 40 degrees celsius when we were in town so we really just got around by Grab and taxi.The dessert served upon arrival was so amazing that the manager ended up helping us to buy more for us to take home and to share with our friends. The breakfast was not included but definitely worth the price. The hotel is very environmentally conscious about their products and toiletries. We’re sad that we didn’t get a chance to take the boat tour that passes right next by the property but we for sure will return!

This is the nicest place we've stayed in Bangkok. It is an old renovated thai house that someone has obviously put a *lot* of effort into. And it is green so you can see it from a distance. Close by is Wat Arun, some local temples, a fort, and a weird Portuguese zone I didn't know existed. It backs onto the canal which is really handy if you have your own boat, or (more likely) you've arranged one to come and pick you up.

A wonderful and beautiful Thaï house, in a very quiet neighborhood of Bangkok, and only 10mn walk from Wat Arun. Rooms are beautiful, there is a private pier and a nice garden. A luxurious and local experience.

I have been to Bangkok 3 times and this is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed! Be stingy about letting people know, but hope they can continue to operate.If I come again, I will reserve more time to learn more about the history of this place with the hostess, and walk around the house carefully.A little reminder, if you are naturally prone to being bitten by mosquitoes, remember to close the door as soon as you leave the room. The room comes with anti-mosquito liquid, so remember to spray it thoroughly🤣

Definitely one of my best experiences of a luxury boutique hotel, that I ever had. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the owner, a private tour given about the history of the place, the rooms are exquisite with every little detail you can think of … to the amazing breakfast and help organizing us a boat tour through the canals of Bangkok … everything was 5-star.I highly recommend this place, we had such a unique experience, we truly loved it

An amazing place that gave me a lot of tranquility. Breakfast is included, and they also offer lunch and dinner if you ask. They will prep the meals according to your preference, so it is advisable to be very specific if you have food preferences. I noticed that their dinner was by default a bit carby and with a lot of fructose, so for breakfast I asked for more protein, less carb and no fruit juice, and they offered to add boil carrots for me instead. It was perfect.It is five minutes from the Wat Arun and all the good places nearby. Many little museums around if you use a motorbike ride. Next time I stay, I will definitely take up on the owner's suggestion and get a boat to go around from their dedicated pier.

We had a wonderful stay with our 1 year daughter at the beginning of September.We highly recommend Neil Niwas, a beautiful and authentic accommodation in the heart of old Bangkok.If you want to feel traditional Bangkok spirit, this is were you must stay.Take the time to discuss with the owner, she will be happy to teach you the interesting story of the mansion and how it has been deeply renovated during 7 years.The result is wonderful !

I love every decoration detail of neil niwas, a mix of traditional design plus some modern elements. There are great design wooden furniture, lovely curtains, nice ceiling fan in our room (owl room) to name a few. There are nice bonsai trees, cute mobiles, shading lychee tree etc literally everything in this house has been carefully selected and care taken with great attention to details. I guess you will need at least half a day or more to be able to have a closer look and enjoy all elements of the interior/exterior design of the house and absorb all the great atmosphere. Location wise, neil niwas is a good base for all activities we planned e.g. it is near Siriraj Piyamaharajkarun hospital where we could get Royal Thai Massage from a professional and near mrt Itsaraphap station which will take us everywhere. Boat ride to Poomjai Garden is also a memorable experience. The host, K. Veena is also very kind and friendly. We followed her various suggestions of where to go and they are all great. With the level of hospitality she gave to the guests, it felt like we stayed at a posh friend house rather than a hotel. Will definitely return and recommend to all friends who will visit Bangkok.

This is my favorite hotel in Bangkok! The owner's sense of beauty is really great. The original wood furniture, teak carvings, and the eaves and windows of traditional Thai architecture are so beautiful every day. It can be felt that the owner has put a lot of thought into restoring this old house. Every detail maintains the ancient beauty but also provides a modern accommodation experience. In the morning, you can also watch the river view and have breakfast prepared by the owner of the restaurant. We stayed for four days and had a different Thai breakfast every day, including porridge, Thai fried rice, curry noodles and delicious Thai snacks. Two of the rooms have connecting doors, making them suitable for families to stay together. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the MRT station. There is a large 7-11 next to the MRT station where you can buy snacks!

Neil Niwas is a gorgeously restored home in Thonburi with a perfect blend of old Thai style (carved teak, stone, art pieces) and modern luxury (great beds! that bathroom! Air con!) we loved the beautiful gardens and the open hallways. The proprietor is so knowledgeable about the history and previous owners of the home, and is so helpful with whatever needs you may have. It is my understanding that children under 6 are not encouraged to stay here ( I completely understand why- delicate older architecture and fine artworks, tall stairways and open balconies!) but we had an exception made for us and the staff were so kind and helpful for my kids and even provided a lovely crib. My whole extended family stayed here together so we had the feeling of being close together but enough privacy for different sleep schedules and no noticeable noise travel between rooms! You are right on the river and can sit and watch the boats go by under the lychee tree, or while sitting down to the delicious and very generous breakfast 😍 We love this part of BKK since our family is here, but there is also a wonderful food night market just around the corner (between the metro station & 7-11 on Itsaraphap rd) many beautiful temples and mosques nearby, the best roti vendors in town & the flower market. Would love to stay here again!
