The Mayana Beach House

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mayana Beach House in Balian, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. Our journey began with a minor hiccup when we realised that the ATMs in Balian didn't work with international cards, but the staff went above and beyond to assist us in getting cash from the nearest town. Be sure to withdraw cash from the Airport on arrival! To reach the Mayana Beach House, you'll need a driver for the approximately 2.5-hour trip from the airport. The first-time arrival can be a bit confusing, but keep an eye out for the sign on your left that says "Casa Desa" – this will lead you down the right road, and there's a Mayana sign to guide you further. I'd recommend stopping along the way to pick up some pantry staples unless you prefer to provide a list to the villa staff, who are more than willing to shop for you. We had Ayu grab us some basics, and the villa's well-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare breakfast and dinner most nights, while we enjoyed eating out for lunch. Additionally, you can order from an online service like The Bali Direct Store, which offers a wide range of products.On arrival we were immediately captivated by the view from the villa. If you're seeking quiet and relaxing accommodation, this is the perfect spot for you. Just a 2-minute walk from the beach, the Mayana Beach House offers stunning sunsets and an amazing pool, surrounded by numerous chill out zones. We found ourselves enjoying the villa so much that we didn't even utilize all its spaces. Would be perfect for a family, 3 couple or individuals travelling, each room having it’s own bathroom and entry to the pool, was a great feature.Given the remote location, having a motorbike (around 6 AUD/day) is a convenient option if you're comfortable riding. Alternatively, the villa can arrange for a driver. It takes about 5-7 minutes to reach Balian Beach for dining options, where you'll find a variety of Warungs and restaurants offering meals ranging from $20 to $65.During our stay, we also indulged in in-house massages and rented surfboards from Ronny down at Balian Beach. (All the numbers are on the fridge, and you can contact them all via WhatsApp) It was a truly relaxing holiday that we all needed, and there's no doubt that we'll be returning to the Mayana Beach House in the future. The tranquility, hospitality, and natural beauty of this villa made it an exceptional escape.
