I spent lovely 12 nights in this hotel with a great staff. You can get an airport transfer for reasonable price and a few tours to the local site seeing from the owner. There is a nice swimming pool and a couple of loungers next to that for sun bathing. If you have a choice, it’s better to get a room on the ground floor.

I stayed in Melasti Mountain Villas in the Batur Villa. Upstairs has the most beautiful views of Mt Agung and rice fields. If you love a rustic Indonesian vibe this is the place to stay. Staff are locals and accommodating. The Villas are new and clean and no mold to be seen anywhere. 10 minute walk to a clean beach. Great Cafes close by.

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the positive reviews made above. For the pluses: Recent and clean guesthouse. Comfortable bedding. Really nice swimming pool with staff speaking little English but always smiling.But... if you want to rest and privacy go your way. The construction defects are so significant that you can literally see into the next room. Holes litter the walls. To the point where we had to put toilet paper to avoid being seen sleeping... Not to mention the soundproofing which is non-existent whether the sound comes from the room next door or above. What a pity …

I spent 4 nights thereRoom: very clean, bed is comfortable, sockets right next to the bed. AC works perfectly and is quiet.Bathroom is very large and clean. Great warm/hot water in the shower.2 large towels (you can take one to the pool)Service: Staff is very friendly, speaks English and is on siteLocation: a little outside, there are very good restaurants within walking distance and you can be in the center in 5 minutes (by scooter)You can also rent scooters thereTowards the beach there is a Padi Dive Center that I definitely recommend. The pool is cleaned every day, I spent my afternoons thereDefinitely a recommendationThe only negative point: the glass panes in the sliding doors are not darkened. If you forget to zip them up, you're practically standing in front of an audience

Pros:+ Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly receptionists that then offered us complimentary mocktails.+ Complimentary decorations on the bed. Pretty!+ The building is new so it was lovely and nice.+ I initially thought sleeping in a wooden building will make me sweat but there is an AC and a fan. Perfect!+ Large bathroom. LOVE the smell of the soap.+ Large towel the size of a beach towel. Much needed!+ Lovely views to the pool from the bed.+ Swimming pool!Cons:- Biggest downside that the owner should be aware of and make changes to the room: there are crevices on the side of the room between the brick walls and the wooden wall, so privacy is a big concern! Luckily I had a large piece of cloth to block the holes so the guest on the other room can't peep inside. But please, do take this as a consideration as this is very crucial! 🙏🏼🙏🏼- Rooms are not soundproof. Since my room was on the first floor, i can hear the guest on the second floor stepping on the wooden floor. Quite annoying to hear at night.Other than that, lovely stay! Would come here again (please do fix the crevices though) 🙏🏼
