Unprofessional bastard hotel. I had booked & paid via the application a day ago when I got there, I was rejected because the room was full. Due to the reason that the application for accepting orders continued to not match the actual conditions, the money was returned but I was disappointed because I got there late at night and it was not possible to look for another hotel. THE POINT IS STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED

This was a horrible experience. The room was very dirty and the bathroom just disgusting. They didn't even clean the room and the sheets was also disgusting... sooorry but this is unacceptable...

Yesterday I left my bag at Sony Cottage, filled with valuables, but the hotel couldn't guarantee that the guests' belongings were safe. They said there was CCTV, but in reality none of it could be resolved. I am very sure my bag was left in the room. but very disappointed with the hotel's handling. lost and found guests don't seem important to them.the place is not safe to visit.That's enough, this is my first and last visit to SONY COTTAGE!!!!

Please, even if there are no facilities, at least they are CLEAN ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜It's not clean, the room is stuffy, it's hot without a fan 😠lots of small animals on the walls on the mattress in the bathroom ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ from those that crawl to those that fly 🥲 really sad

+ One of the homestays has been on Samosir Island for quite a long time. Rooms, view and quiet are OK.- Many light bulbs have been removed- the tap water is not strong enough- the fan doesn't work- towels, soap, toothbrushes are not available

Question: is it worth staying there, even for that price (between €8 and €11 per night)?Answer: noThe staff are lovely ( Dave, Jenny) but sorry, the rooms don't make you want to stay on Samosir. It's spartan, there's no soap or toilet paper, nothing in the room, just a bed. What's more, if the weather isn't good, which is often the case at Lake Toba, everything becomes sad 😱.I was supposed to stay 5 nights ( I even paid in advance - big mistake), I only stayed 3.Probably for this price or even a bit more, there are much better in Samosir.Sorry about the staff, I repeat, lovely, but not worth the cost!

Everything is destroyed, there is no good one. The service is destroyed, the rooms smell dirty, there are no towels, there is no soap, there is no mat. The location is dark, there are no residents, it's dirty, like a forest. Very sorry

Dont trust the good reviews, They are self-generated. Views suck, room suck, there's bugs everywhere, even the forest has less bugs. The electricity always ran out, toilet room doesn't even have a lock. The room are too shaky, it's not even safe. I almost tripped on way of getting here, the stairs are not even.

Highly recommend staying here.The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are clean, the tap water runs smoothly. The view is good, because it directly faces Lake Toba, and it is safe for small children to bathe on the edge of Lake Toba.You can fish too... Yesterday ordered via Agoda on the weekend and got the price of 115 thousand. For that price, it's really worth it, even if there were 10 stars, I'd give it 10 stars.
