The review in English is available after the Indonesian version:If you want to experience a stay that is different from hotels in general, The Purwohamijayan is worth a try. This guest house was once the home of one of the daughters of Susuhunan Pakubuwono It is said that Susuhunan once lived here, so you just have to walk to get to the Palace. As befits a house of high Javanese nobility, this house consists of a large cupola, where the host received guests of honor, followed by a half-open hall for the guests to wait.Around it, in a U configuration, are rows of bedroom buildings. Seven of the rooms are rented to guests. The dining room and kitchen are located in the spacious rear yard. The original interior design of each room is still maintained, with only slight changes here and there, such as installing air conditioning. There is only a king size single bed available. There is no twin bed option. The mirror, cupboard and table and chairs in the room still use old furniture. The bathroom is neatly arranged, clean and dry. The amenities are at the same level as a three star hotel, they can still be improved. With the shower model, hot water is available along with cold water. What stands out most about this inn is its serene, calm and peaceful atmosphere, with air that feels clean. The service is also extraordinary, fast, efficient with typical Javanese noble hospitality.Breakfast is served in the dining room which contains antique tables and chairs. With high walls and windows and doors that are always open, this room feels cool and bright. A gentle breeze came from the fan.The breakfast menu is typical Javanese home-cooked food, which is served at the dining table sequentially. As an appetizer, pieces of fresh fruit are served, then the main dish, then dessert accompanied by tea or coffee.Take the time to wake up early to enjoy the cool fresh morning air, then leave the gate to walk or run along the fort from the inside. Once around the fort, it is approximately 1.5 kilometers, including passing through the front of the palace. If you want to go further, there is one of the gates that connects to the North Square which was being renovated when I visited there. The distance around the square is approximately 1.8 kilometers, one round.Don't miss the opportunity to take a guided tour inside the Palace. I was lucky to be accompanied by a young guide named Mas Adi, who also happened to be a relative of the Keraton. His extensive knowledge, with a variety of reading, including ancient Javanese books and his explanations are systematic and easy to understand, making the tour an interesting journey through history, including facts that are rarely revealed.Overall, the experience of staying 4 days 3 nights at The Purwohamijayan is very possible. For me, who has experienced staying in various five-star hotels in various cities in Indonesia and other countries, staying here is still one of the best. With competitive prices, the value for money is high. Highly recommended.----Review in English:If you want to experience a different kind of stay from the usual hotels, The Purwohamijayan is worth a try. This guest house was once the home of one of the daughters of Susuhunan Pakubuwono It is said that the Susuhunan lived once here, so it is just a short walk to the palace. As is typical of a high-ranking Javanese noble's home, this house consists of a large covered pavilion where the host receives distinguished guests, connected to a semi-open pavilion for guests to wait.Surrounding the main structure in a U-shape are rows of buildings containing the rooms.
