We were in transit from Pangururan to Medan and would spend the night in a Tuk-Tuk to take the ferry to Medan/airport the next morning. Because there was a Muslim party, all hotels in the area were fully occupied. After driving around for a while we arrived at Mas Cottages. It was also very busy here, but there was still a room available for us. The room was beautiful with a view of Lake Toba and the pool. The food in the restaurant was fine and the staff were friendly. Too bad it was only for one night but we would definitely go back in the future.

Nothing is in the neighbourhood, you have to walk a lot. The head of staff does not help with anything (tuktuk or transfer or any tours), he turned down all our requests and did not want to answer any questions, I have never seen such an unhelpful Indonesian as they are generally very nice and helpful people. Thereis no wifi in the rooms. Rooms are dirty with old worn down furniture without proper cupboard. There is a nice view from the terrace to lake. There is a nice pool.

I rarely want to give reviews. But because I was very annoyed with the mouth of the owner, namely the lady there.I checked out today so because the order in the application didn't include breakfast so we bought popmie to eat at the table in the lobby.We also order coffee and drinks.And because there were gallons filled with water there, we filled up with drinking water.It turns out... The gallon wasn't for the customer, I think, because my 8 year old child was filling drinking water. His mother told my child "You can't just fill it all up with your friend's bucket" 😂.(BUK, if you're not sincere, don't put the gallon there and at the same time don't open the accommodation to the public).It didn't stop there... My mother said to me, "Throw away the food's rubbish" (I threw it away). I understand that, right?But... my mother said that to my 1st child again. "Wipe that table" 😂.Why are you being an arranged guest?As written above, I have an order for you to drink.There are many things I want to review about this accommodation 🤣This is the first time I have stayed in Samosir because the other hotels were full so I chose Mas cottages.I booked on the application at BOOKING.COM and my order could be rescheduled so I didn't reply to the email via the application from the accommodation but I immediately WAd to the accommodation, I was given a reschedule and I was very grateful.There should still be a refund for the room price, but the application rules can be refunded or not, I don't care anymore.So basically my order wasn't rescheduled via the application.I heard from other guests that there were also disputes with the accommodation. The regulations exceed 5 star hotels, but the service and attitude are not 👎 (this also has a story 😂)I didn't review the hotel on social media, even though I already had plans for the next time I wanted to stay here again 👎.p.s: Buk, next time if you have the courage to say straight away, I'm the husband/father of the children. Don't just be brave with the children.

Hotel with the worst service, just want to book but immediately ask for payment in full. Then I was hounded again, asked to refund the money but ended up wasting this and that. Then you don't get the money back, even 2 star hotels pretend to be the best 🤮 keep cursing again, you eat the money until your stomach rots... If you can't be friendly with customers, just close the hotel 🤣Have we ever booked a hotel with us or not... Ouch, even 5 star bosses, have we ever stayed or not?

The parking is far from the accommodation

It's really good with all the facilities, but getting to the room is a bit tiring because you have to go downstairs

The intention was to relieve fatigue after a big party with the family, but I wanted to relax, but instead it turned out to be a strain on the receptionist. Never mind, I won't come back to this inn again. I am a Batak person who likes to explore Indonesia, from the West to the East of Indonesia. I really regret that the government's efforts to increase Lake Toba tourism are not supported by qualified human resources in the hospitality sector. It's a shame that the view is good but it's not matched by the staff's service and facilities (TV is just a display, wifi doesn't reach the room, old room interior). Note: only 1 officer had a problem, the one with a tattoo, it's better not to put it on the front liner because it makes a bad first impression.
