eco casa resort

We are writing this review based on the price payed and its previous reviews (most of them of 5 stars).We loved our 3 nights in Karimunjawa. The resort is incredibly well placed, and its facilities are beautiful. Ester and Stefano are really nice and helpful, and their staff is magnificent.Nevertheless, we believe that for the price payed (nearly double than most of the good hotels we stayed in Indonesia), and with the amazing reviews, they still have margin for improvement.The rooms are big and comfortable and are reasonably clean. Nevertheless, on the top of the bed’s canopy there was plenty of dust, and dead insects, including a lizard. It was not a big issue, but still, they should be more careful. The air conditioning was not too strong, so it can be quite hot despite having it on for a lot of hours. The room didn’t really have an insect net, although the canopy could like one, but using it all throughout the night was impossible due to the high temperature inside the bed when it was closed.Regarding the food: dinner menu is good, the grilled fish they offer is really worth it.Breakfast is good. Nevertheless, we believe the quantities are quite reduced, and we feel that not including an espresso or a cappuccino, and a juice (less than 1 euro each) is not acceptable for the price you pay (on the high range in Indonesia as mentioned before). They offer soluble coffee, and tea throughout the day, but one would expect a bit more regarding coffee from a couple of Italians with good taste for food for breakfast.WiFi is enough for chatting, although not the best if you need to work.Great activity offer, including an amazing snorkeling trip (not included in the price) and others like scooter renting or hiking in the island.The location is idilic, overlooking a really calm private beach, can’t get any better.Finally, they offer taxi pickup (which is really a hired driver on their own car), but they charge an incredible amount of money for Indonesian standards (18 euros for 15kms, when we were used to paying 3-5 euros for similar rides, we know it’s a little island but we still feel it was extremely expensive).I would nevertheless 100% recommend anyone wanting to enjoy some calm time to visit Eco Casa Resort!

Best place at Karimunjawa!This place is the best place i have discovered on Karimunjawa. It’s beautiful, the vibe is lovely, the sea is crystal blue, the food is delicious and the staff and owners are wonderfull. They really helped us out when our bike broke down, even when we were not their guest. We felt very welcome to book a snorkeling tour here (which was really nice) and to have a drink and chill afternoon!

Fantastic

We had an amazing stay at Eco Casa! That was the first part of our Indonesia trip and our honeymoon. The owners - Ester and Stefano are super nice and helpful couple! If we needed to change some plans (changing from scooters to rental of a car) they have managed it in one hour :) all the staff working with them is also kind and you can always have a nice chat with them. We felt taken care of. The bungalows are perfectly located on palm beach right under beautiful, blue sea. You can do snorkelling trips and others from their place as well as book a massage. And what is really important - food is amazing :) both Indonesian and Italian (I loved theirs carbonara 😍), grilled fish and calamari are also super tasty! You don’t really need to dine in the town - you have got everything at their place.

Our stay was simply perfect.Ecocasa was the answer to everything we were looking for on all levels: location, amenities, simplicity with style, sustainability, great food and incredible guests.Our every wish was fulfilled also with regards to excursions on the island and the islands of the archipelago.Ester, Stefano and Anna are people we will always carry in our hearts and we will never thank them enough for making our six days unforgettable.Thanks to you guys, and also to all the staff: the very good housekeeping guy, the « blonde », the handyman gardener and the fantastic cooks

Magnificent hotel by the sea, everything was perfect! The owners are adorable: they allowed us to go on a superb excursion to a paradise island, as well as getting us out of a bind with the return boat tickets.The restaurant is also excellentAn address to remember!
