A truly beautiful lodge. The quality is great, both from the staff and from the restaurant (tip: the chicken gulai and the rendang). Comfortable bed, nice room and a lot of attention to detail. We have booked a few extra nights. The burning of waste at the neighbors two days in a row was annoying, but the hotel cannot do anything about that. We would love to come back!

The location is the best, from the car park it's still a walk of about 100 meters through the rice fields, with a very nice view...Entering the villa, you get a room with a rather scary view. Asked to exchange rooms and was given one, but ended up being separated from the children, so it wasn't comfortable.Everyone is friendly, breakfast is simple and based on request.

Room reservations are not clear. It's hard to be OK with the room price but when you arrive at the room location it's actually sold out. The receptionist was also not friendly. Prioritizing foreigners over local tourists even though they have come a long way. Bad reservation SOP, private number is used as reservation number but no follow-up regarding reservation. I will NEVER make a reservation here again!!!

Had an amazing stay here. We had a room beneath the traditional Batak roof with a view of the rice fields. The whole stay is surrounded by green.
The restaurant has quality options, and I loved the Chai Massala tea.

The place is fabulous (in the middle of the rice fields) and the staff are very friendly. It is set back from the city so this must be taken into account when traveling on foot.

We really had a great stay! The location is really great and the nature is so beautiful. The whole stay looks like a fairytale. The staff is also super nice and we did a tour with Jaka. He showed us all the beautiful places in Bukittinggi and around it. We would definitely come back here. 🩷

Beautiful Minangkabau style lodge in the middle of the rice fields of the canyon, but still within walking distance of the center (clock tower, market, etc.). Beautiful, bright rooms with minimalist furnishings, all with an outdoor area. Delicious breakfast included, but you can also order a simple lunch and/or dinner in the modest open-air restaurant. Super friendly and helpful staff. Without a doubt the most atmospheric place to stay in Bukittingi at the moment. Highly recommended!

I have been there in 2023. The place is heaven like and that s the sad part. It's a peace of heaven that has not been taken care of.The food is not good : I wish I had the opportunity to eat the food prepared by the chef mentioned in the previous comments.. because all I had was meals I couldnt finish since the taste was very bad (very rare to eat so bad Indonesia)..the cook doesn't speak English very well and didn't understand my request.There is a karaoke bar near the place and it is a living hell. The noise is so loud that you cannot sleep. They sing loudly (and so badly) until 1 am at least EVERY DAMN NIGHT I WAS THERE.I won't list all the things I didn't like but this is clearly a missed opportunity as this lodge is one the most beautiful if have seen in Indonesia and I believe lot of money was invested. The owner clearly need to review several things as the place has so much potential.I am not coming back and I don't recommend this place unfortunately.

Pros: We spent a little more than two weeks in West Sumatra, and Padi Ecolodge was our favourite accommodation in our trip. We love the raw and relaxing vibe of the ecolodge. We miss waking up in the morning seeing shrews and birds on the trees right from our bed. We miss falling asleep and waking up to the sound of nature. We also miss Rio (nickname Yok) who listens to our juicy day report in the evening. We loved it so much that we decided to extend another night (and cancel our trip to Harau Valley). Thanks Jaka for helping us with booking Ayu travel to Kerinci.Cons: I didn’t enjoy the local burning their organic matters but it happens across Sumatra so it isn’t the property’s fault.

A beautiful place to relax, you only hear nature sounds. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The beds are good. The house has beautiful views of nature and is close to Bukittinggi
