If you are thinking of staying in Bajawa, Hotel Happy Happy is definitely the place to stay. In terms of value for money, there is no better in the region. Although the rooms are modest, all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay are available. Hot water is a big plus, especially in Bajawa with the cooler temperature. If you want new, luxurious rooms, this is not the place for you. But if you want to support a local hotel, which has survived the pandemic thanks to the human welcome and the wave of love it offers to visitors, and want to experience an immersion in Indonesian culture, then yes, it's is totally the place for you. Alfonso and his family will do everything possible to help you plan your activities, to offer you homemade lunches and a hotel experience like at home. I couldn't recommend this place more!

Perhaps arriving at the Happy Happy after hours of driving on the long and winding roads of Flores, on a cool and rainy day was not helpful, but the impression that this small hotel on the Bajawa road makes on you,Ā ā¦

We had a great time at the happy happy hotel. The manager (and his staff) was very kind, and gave us useful advice on excursions to do near Bajawa. Simple but spacious rooms, bathroom a little small but there is hot water. advised!

The hotel suffered from the Covid break. So, it's a bit outdated. That said, the bedding is perfect, the water is hot. But above all, Alfons will be able to give you in the most disinterested way all the information you need for your stay. For that alone, it's nice. (go directly through him, you will pay less than in the reservation centers).

The host Alfonso is a great guy. He was very accommodating and made sure we had a good breakfast in the morning. His wife makes Ikat garments which are beautifull. We recommend to stay with him anytime!

The rooms arenāt that big, but they are clean. There is a safe. Common areas are pleasant. Breakfast was rather disappointing with unripe fruit and noodles fried with no vegetables or sambal. It was a noisy during traffic times and there was a light on in the common area which kept waking me up. It was fine for us.

Nice rooms but a few big bugs to deal with. Make sure you zip your bags. There was cereal for breakfast which we welcomed after weeks of rice or eggs. Owner is not always there so you donāt get the fresh bread promised in the write up.Ā ā¦
