First of all, I understand its quite cheap… about 9 dollars a night. But I assure you its not worth it. I’ve been traveling for years, and I’m very adaptable to new situations, and even I had to check out early. I’ll start with the main problem. The single room is way too small, its already small in the picture, but its even smaller in real life. I could not even open my suitcase fully inside. And had to tuck the suitcase under the bed, just to have a space to stand. No water, no bin(not even in the hallway), you need water? Better bring in enough, because if you forget, its a trek to go outside and find one.Second issue, there is no airconditioning inside the room. It is a hallway airconditioning, with a fan blowing the air from the hallway inside. Thankfully it is pretty cold, but there is no way of adjusting the temperature if you get to cold or too hot. The only way is to turn the fan on or off, and if you turn it off, it blocks the fresh airflow to the already stuffy claustrophobic room.Really really complicated maze like building, and a very long walk to my room. I’m a very good navigator, and it took me a few tries to figure out how to get to my room. They’ve blocked off some random access points which provides a shortcut to the rooms for some reason. So you are forced to pass by at least 100 rooms to get to your room, if your room is at the end of the hallway (no exaggeration). Total time to get to your room once you enter the building can take 5-10 min.About 6 shower and 6 toilets for at least 100 people. And theres only 1 facility, which some people who have rooms far away may have to spend couple of minutes walking, just to go to the toilet. Completely unacceptable. Also I’ve noticed some males in the bathroom hanging out, just staring(I’m a male). I don’t wanna say what kind of people but I’m giving you an obvious hint…lets just say, its really uncomfortable and pretty annoying. They are lucky this isn’t my home country, or else there will definitely be a confrontation. It’s a fair warning, and I can see it’s just a matter of time before a serious incident happens. This also makes me question their purpose for staying in this hostel.Gym is not free… this is the main reason why I left. Its 160 baht, thats with discount already applied. Honestly, it would be a perfect business strategy to bring in gym enthusiasts if it was free. But not many will stay long if they have to pay 160 baht... thats more expensive than most gyms I go to, and its a place I’m already staying at. That doesn’t make sense. that would’ve been the only redeeming factor but no way I will live in a chicken coop, with questionable people staring at me every time I go pee, and pay for the gym too. I found out the hard way. After I’ve calculated all the added cost, if I just spent a few more dollars, I would have my own room, own bathroom, privacy, personal aircon, big room, water, and 1 min maximum to get to my room. This place is great in concept, but the execution is terrible. It is very clear that the customer comfort is an afterthought, and it’s only purpose is to maximize profit. You wanna challenge your patience? go ahead and book it! But only book 1 night and see. There will be rooms available if you wanna extend, because there are so many. The staff downstairs is nice, but good luck finding the right one. It’s a shame because they are amazing, and genuinely trying their best.
