Manulalu Jungle Bungalow

No clue how the reviews are so high.After seeing the pictures and getting a recommendation from one of the locals we decided to book this place.I would recommend you NOT stay here and save your money. A lot of the things I list below I would not mind IF the price for the room was not so expensive compared to the rest of the island. Also please note if you come with a driver there is NO place for the driver to stay he would have to sleep in his car :(The big appeal is the beautiful views of the mountains, which are amazing! But that’s about where it ends.NO HOT WATER. Our room ended up not having hot water. They tried to fix it and managed to get a hot shower in but in the morning issue was back again so we couldn’t take a warm shower.The whole construction is so shabby, the Doors don’t close properly, everything is quite sloppyThere is NO AC and NO FAN therefore the room gets quite hot and because of the mosquitoes you cannot open the doors. There’s no screens of courseThere is lots more but I will leave it at that.Look I understand what type of island Flores is, and normally I would not count some of these things against a place here; but for the amount they are charging $ you’re better off just visiting the RESTO which is quite great and just take in the views there.

Best accommodation in all of Flores!!! The view was amazing, wonderful peace and nature all around. Occasionally music from the village in the valley is included ☺️ Great house, spacious, comfortable beds and super great and fast communication! Thank you for 3 unforgettable days

Without question, one of the coolest hotels i have ever stayed at. Incredible views of mt inerie and the surrounding mountains behind bajawa. Service is terrific, food is delicious, and the patio was a lovely, quiet space to slow down and let time pass in flores. Spend a few nights and just chill if your schedule allows. Will consider myself lucky if life allows me to visit again.

You can feel real, good magic here. The views are breathtaking, the people are very friendly and natural.Sometimes you can smell the sulfur of the underworld, but that's part of real magic!

The accomodation and the surrounding area is simply breathtaking.the staff is very friendly and helpful.However, 2 things restrained me from giving 5 stars. A) everytime we made an order at the restaurant, several items on the menu werent available,some of them multiple times (the menu itself aint big,so its kind of suspect),however, the food is really good, B) some of the plates on top of the roof of our bungalow were partially lose,and every night with the wind blowing it kept banging.Still, I am surely recommending this place.

Manulalu is a superb. Stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed every moment spent here. Getting to the location is a bit difficult, but it pays off when you stay here.All the staff are very friendly and helpful here, the food is also delicious. The hot chocolate is a winner, the moke is really delicious with a fruity aroma. The breakfast is delicious, and the other food is also delicious. I tasted se'i and curry.Really pampered with the various services provided.We were even provided with vehicles to visit the Bena Traditional Village which is located close to Manulalu.Will come back to stay here again when visiting Flores later.Thank you Brother Us and Brother Don especially for giving us an extraordinary stay at Manulalu.

Wow, words can hardly describe what i want to convey....I've travelled the world as a touring musician, and ive stayed in many many places. This must be the nicest and if not, the top 2 or 3.What is the USP?Theres the unbelievable views and stunning accommodation.Theres the restaurant and bar.Theres the fantastic hot springs.But the main reason this place is so special is the community. Jo and and all the team really made us feel like family. Endless nights of music and laughter.You must go here if your in Indonesia!Lucas x

Fantastic room. Breathtaking view. Pretty decent food on an island where it’s rarely the case. The restaurant area is a masterpiece of Indonesian randomness, mixing Mexican cacti, posters of celebrities, statues of Mary, musical instruments, stained glass windows and pharmacy green crosses dedicated to the local hero: Dr. Arak.

Very bad stay at this place. Actually, this place is good for healing and staying overnight with the advantage of a forest feel. It's just that I was very disappointed because every night there were always lots of bees coming into the room. Even though the room is tightly locked, many bees can still enter. Not just 1-2 bees but there are hundreds of bees because it is a guest house in the middle of the forest. Of course, this is very disturbing and disturbing. Apart from making us uncomfortable, the presence of bees can even sting us which is very dangerous.The accommodation lacked anticipation and was less professional in handling this. With a room rate of more than 1 million rupiah per night, we felt it was not worth it because of the presence of wild animals that came in and disturbed us who wanted to rest. The management should take this seriously. Guest comfort and safety must be prioritized.For those who want to stay at this place, you can reconsider. There are still many other accommodations in Bajawa. I don't think I will return to this place. Hopefully the inn can fix this.
