I absolutely loved to stay with Joni Rinaldo and his family. The homestay is till under development, they got electricity just few months ago, so expect very spartan way of living. That being said the experience is 100% authentic and lovely, we saw so many things. Joni (he speaks very good english) showed us all around the village, the church, the government building, the school and all the nice viewpoints. There is also a nice trekking if you fancy.The place is beautiful and at the end of the road there is a very nice caffe where you can enjoy the sunset and the shore.It was an amazing experience, probably the most authentic around Flores and I have been around for 18 days.Even if the homstay is still very “poor” I am sure Joni will do his best to make it more comfortable and nice. We spoke about the improvements and he is very keen to know how to make this place more accessible and nice.Thank you Joni and thank all your family again. Lovely and true people.

One of the best homestays I have ever stayed in South East Asia. We were on our way to Wae Rebo village by motorbike when we decided to stay here for a night and we do not regret it.Even though the homestay was not officially opened yet we were allowed to stay for free. It is basic but has everything you need: a mattress, electricity, running cold water and a toilet. In the evening we were treated to a delicious dinner (fried chicken with rice, vegetables and prawn crackers). We got the same again for breakfast after we had a nice cup of coffee together on the veranda (what a treat!). John invited us the next day to meet his beautiful family, he gave us a tour of his village with traditional houses (this was really authentic compared to the tourist scam of Wae Rebo village), we visited a school and tobacco plantations. Even though they did not want to accept any money we still gave them some (average homestay price) because they took such good care of us. This was definitely one of our highlights in Flores!

It's a very amazing place. You can relax here while enjoying the combination of the south beach with stunning views of Mules Island. Drinking coffee accompanied by a warming sunset among the rice fields is an experience that you won't regret visiting.
