We had a delightful stay at Villa Kalisat, the most serene and wonderful place to stay for a visit to the area. Just a short shuttle drive from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, the lovely team at the villa made us feel totally at home, welcoming us back from our days out, serving us delicious food and looking after us like cherished guests. The Villa is set on the slopes of a river valley so the climb up and down to your room can be a little steep, so if you have any mobility issues this may not be the right place for you. We stayed in the Monkey throne room which has panoramic views of the river valley. The bed was comfortable and the room is very spacious. I always bring my own pillow and, if you prefer a feather pillow, I would advise you to do the same as everywhere we went in Bali the pillows were foam. Water pressure was a little weak, but the shower was big and the bathroom a good size. Lighting in the room is a little on the dark side at night, but very atmospheric. I'd like to thank Bene and her wonderful team for making our first visit to Bali the magical experience it was.

Ok - I have never been to Bali so my first time.We arrived and I took one look at the view and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. That is the views are Heavenly in all sense of the word.Anytime we went out the staff greeted us with “welcome home”. And you feel it.Once we went out and got back home using a Grab (recommend you download) taxi. There was a problem with my credit card and the General Manager paid our fare and refused to be refunded!!The breakfast is like a work of art and tastes divine.Note: you need to be fit to climb the steep stairs. But do not let this put you off if you’re fit and healthy.Everyday I just stared into the amazing rainforest.If you are not blown by the service and view and breakfast here, then I am a banana 🤣🤣. I dare you, no double dare you not be amazed.We spent 5 days before moving on to Karangasem.

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at Villa Kalisat. From the moment we arrived we felt extremely welcomed into what we were told was not a hotel but our new Bali Home and it definitely felt like that!The staff were all fantastic and the hotel is situated in a lovely village where the other locals are all so friendly (and have very cute dogs -especially King).The hotel grounds are quite large and have great views over the valley.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and it’s definitely great value for money!Breakfast was also fantastic - there are too many things I could go on about for how great this place was!

We arrived at night, getting off the plane. What a surprise when we got up in the morning. An incredible view of the jungle with the sound of the waterfall below. The welcome and service were very warm. We had the family room with the swimming pool on the terrace. Everything is very comfortable. Ubud is only 20 minutes away by taxi. We were very happy to find this haven of peace after each visit. The breakfasts are fresh and excellent. A real joy to start this fabulous journey.

Magnificent establishment. The view is magnificent!!! We had the waterfall room and it is superb, just above the waterfall and the tropical forest. Little monkeys came to visit us in the morning 🥹

You can truly experience living in a house in the woods.Although there are a few bugs and chickens and frogs crow at dawn, it is highly recommended for those who want to experience life in nature.This is an accommodation I want to come back to again.
