Beautiful view, very friendly and courteous staff, delicious breakfast. The location is perfect if you want to start all sights/activities from the middle of the island. We would book again at any time.

Just beautiful !Nice view, nice house, nice people!The breakfast is nothing crazy but ok.Due to the remote location it is necessary to rent a scooter. This is possible directly at the accommodation 👍🏻A driver can also be booked through the rental company. All around a great stay. Recommendation goes out!

The room is beautiful, it overlooks the swimming pool and a breathtaking view.However the staff is non-existent, no one to welcome us we had to call her to tell us where our room was. The next day we had an early appointment so we asked if it was possible to have breakfast at 7 a.m. (instead of 7:30 a.m.) she told us yes and the next day at 7 a.m. there was nothing and no one . They rented us a scooter with only the front brake working and the shock absorbers are dead so with each bump you bounce for 100m. Have this scooter serviced as it can be dangerous.

The views are spectacular, the rooms new and well maintained. The breakfast is great and with the motorcycle you have everything relatively close. The only thing was that the pool had quite a few bugs.

We enjoyed breathtaking views of the island from this charming villa! Mt. Agung on Bali is visible on clear days :) Villa is located very remotely and you have to be prepared that there is lack of shops and restaurants near by. But you can order food with delivery :)Rooms are in good standard with AC. Shower needs descaling and this is the only drawback from our point of view.Check in is done remotely.

I don't normally write reviews but just had to come here and say how great this place is. Awesome rooms, nice staff and the view is incomparable. Yes it's a bit isolated, but on an island that is packed with tourists and too many cars it's a relief to find somewhere quiet and peaceful. It's easy to scooter to a lot of beaches and touristy spots. The breakfast is FREE and 👍 we ate at the nearby warung and it was really good too (you can walk there in like 2 minutes) Some of the other reviews are weird - have you guys never travelled before? This place is a bargain 🤣

Beautiful rooms with an incredible view, a hillside pool, and attentive service. Katon Hills represents wonderful value - your own private space with hot water showers, air conditioning, a breakfast of eggs + toast + tropical fruit + coffee/tea, all set on a peak with views of mountains, palm trees, and the ocean. The host is extremely responsive and the staff is professional and unobtrusive. We had a wonderful stay and will come again.

HousingIt was very dirty (ant nests inside), thetowel rack was broken, leak at the level ofsink drain, toilet not fixed to the floorno pressure in the shower because the shower head isfilled with limestone. The housing door is difficultto open and close (have strength in your arms).We asked for cleaning to be donein the middle of the stay this was done very briefly(the trash cans have not even been changed and therestill had so much sand on the ground.)The swimming poolLike everything else in the hotel it is badmaintained (broken and peeling tile:be careful not to cut yourself)It is no longer even overflowing because there isstagnant slime in the water tankThe staffAt first glance they seem very nice butas the reservation comes to an end we have had thefelt like they were doing everything to get us out as soon as possiblequickly.We took this hotel because it was very well ratedbut we fell from a height.

A beautiful view! You look at the island of Bali and it is wonderful to wake up in the morning. The accommodation does not really have a reception: it is a house nearby where breakfast is also made. Because there are only 3 houses, there is not always someone present.The best way to get here is by scooter and if you want to eat somewhere in the evening you will also need it. There are no Warungs or restaurants in the area within walking distance.We only missed a wardrobe to store our things, but otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.

Booked via Booking only to find out on arrival in the evening that the rooms had been rented out secretly by the owner despite confirmation. So you had to look for new accommodation in the dark. Absolutely no go

Worst experience of our Bali vacation.We booked 2 rooms and after a long day we finally wanted to go to our rooms. It then turned out that our rooms had been secretly passed on, so we had to look for a new hotel in the middle of nowhere and in the dark.No reception, no real owner there to help.Catastrophic!

No free rooms despite booking confirmation! We booked and paid for two rooms. Upon arrival we were told that there was only one room available and that we should stay in the owner's private house, where private items and toys belonging to the owner's children were scattered all over the floor. Of course we didn't want this, we wanted what we booked and paid for. We were then left in the dark and had to find new accommodation. We had booked through booking, but the owner rented a room privately to friends without letting them know. Before booking, check whether there are actually rooms available!

The view is awesome.Clean pool, clean rooms, well-ventilated bathroom, nice indoor climate thanks to the AC and a very comfortable bed. In addition, it is in a great location to explore the island. LeGGGa breakfast.

I’m as fatigued by the phrase “hidden gem” as you are, but for perhaps the first time, this beauty lives up to the hype. Katon Hills is simply spectacular – and so intimate: three comfortable, modern, well-furnished rooms only, up a secluded hill, on the fringes of a tiny traditional village … you can pass days without encountering another traveller, and truly connect to nature. The communal pool (if you can call it that, given that you’ll likely enjoy complete privacy with a maximum of four other guests staying!) is perched at the edge of the hill, offering splendid sunset views that will melt the iciest of hearts. Solid breakfast, Oh, and the service – Juliana and the team are smart, friendly, attentive, but also discreet, and gave our room a lovely personalised message we will remember for the rest of our lives. Truly an unrivalled spot on Penida or, frankly, anywhere.

Very nice place, with very friendly people. we stayed there in march and enjoyed the silence & view there!
Just make sure to rent a bike if u can, or get a taxi driver to drive you all around. The host will help you to get whatever you need

Central location with a beautifull view. Cottages are simpel but ok. The shower is lacking water pressure. Would be convenient if there is more space to hang some clothes/towels and if there is a hairdryer.Breakfast is fine, choice of 3 dishes with coffee and fruit.You can rent a scooter. Great response of contact via Whatsapp.When you rent a cottage please give some love to the dog, Sjors. He protects your cottage the whole night and he is really sweet. 😀

We had a lovely stay at Katon Hills. The view was spectacular and so was the pool. Quiet place with decent and cozy rooms. The host and staff were friendly and great. They were available all the time for anything we needed and the service was on point. It was centrally located so everything was convenient within 25-40 mins by motorbike (which they also arranged for us). The host also gave us a list of short listed places around that made our trip easier. Will definitely stay there if we visit again!
