I love the sea, especially sleeping while listening to the ocean waves. And Lelewatu Resort Sumba is the perfect location for treating myself!This beautiful, luxury resort sits on top of a cliff and gives privacy. Although I came alone, the staff were very kind to give me Villa #6, the only villa with a private pool in the middle that faces the ocean. I could sit beside the pool, dip my feet in the water and enjoy the view ❤️❤️❤️From the moment I arrived, the super friendly staff, the food (esp oxtail sup aka sup buntut), to the interior design, I like them all... It was really worth the money. Thank you, Lelewatu Resort and Team! 🙏😊🌊

Nikki and I had a fabulous stay 16-19 August to end a memorable 8 day adventure in beautiful Sumba. The resort location is breathtaking unspoiled cliff views with the ocean waves crashing below. We had breakfast on our balcony looking over the ocean and dinner watching the sunset over the infinity pool by the main restaurant. For those who love seclusion and nature this is for you. Excellent food and wonderful service.

We had booked 1 week in August 2024 at this resort. We canceled after 3 days and left. This hotel has seen its best days. The current owner relies on the previous owner's ratings. Prices are charged for a 5 star hotel and they are not worth 3.5 stars. There isn't even carbonated water there. Even if it is an island - another hotel has no problem with it. The marketing is great but what you get is bad. There is no water in the rooms and when you use the sink all the water runs onto the floor. The facility is not maintained. We are there in nature but old leaves are not removed and you feel like you are in the jungle and not in a nice way. I feel rather sorry for the employees because they are not trained and do not speak any other language. That's the owner's job, because the employees are so nice and deserve to be supported. It's just a shame that the owner can't get enough of it and the entire hotel and staff have to suffer as a result. The hotel has potential but unfortunately it is not used, as nice as the location is, I cannot recommend it.

I never took the time to make a note on Google but then I came back. A shame! A scam! Who is the owner of this hotel.. certainly not a hotel professional. He should sell and give this place a chance. Let him change jobs. The establishment is abandoned and the restoration is more than limited. Just look at the comments... tourists have been reporting these problems since 2021... we were told that there was no management for housekeeping, no manager for catering, no manager for the room. We were served our dish before the starter... no glasses... we had to ask for our glasses. Our aperitif arrived after the main course...the waitress did her best but it was obvious that she was not a professional. It's not a 5 star. This establishment will disappear if it is not sold and taken over with a lot of investment!!!! The owner does not respect his employees by leaving poor people to fend for himself to compensate for his incompetence!Our villa (V1) has its foundations which are sagging... there must be more than 10 cm difference between two walls. Our suitcase rolls by itself 😳. And here are some photos!

Too bad the service is not up to par, I would even say catastrophic in terms of the restaurant (dishes that do not correspond to the menu, slow service 45 minutes of waiting and exorbitant prices for what is on the plate ) absence of manager, employees are abandoned to their fate.

Lelewatu Resort has been on my bucket list for a while. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist amidst stunning views.We received the best room with an exceptional sea view. They paid great attention to details, even providing different bathroom amenities for men and women.The food was well-cooked and delicious.The spa was incredibly comfortable, offering massages with the best views.Overall, our experience at Lelewatu Resort was fantastic. The ethnic Sumba concept combined with the breathtaking sea views made our stay memorable and unforgettable.

Masha Allah, it's AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL💜Initially I was confused about deciding to go on holiday to Sumba. There are several things that we are considering, one of which is considering hotels which are very limited (few & expensive), flights that are only available by small plane from Bali & of course about food.Finally we decided, Yes, we went on holiday to Sumba, armed with information from Google & what other people said.After looking for good & affordable hotels on a budget, we decided to book Lele Watu Resort for 3 days exploring West Sumba. If you want to go to the hotel next door, the price is cheap...😂😂.Long story short, landing at Waikabubak Airport, we were greeted by the Hotel Team who was on stand by to pick us up. Considering it takes approximately 1.5 hours from the airport to the hotel, we were picked up. Oh yeah, this pick-up is free, so you can just give the driver some tips.Upon arrival at the hotel lobby, we were served really delicious fresh coconuts.....and there was a buggy on standby to take us to our room, because it was quite a distance to walk and I was 7 months pregnant at that time (I just wanted to... road2). Hehehe.....Oh my God, the view... it's really cool to use, I swear I won't regret it.When we got to the room, the hotel clerk told us that this room had recently been rented by an artist, he said his name, only we didn't know what artist he was (please understand we were confused🤣) he only knew Luna Maya, bro, he said Lunmay had also stayed here😁.When we went there there were only 4 resorts occupied, only we were natives and the rest were tourists. Considering it's not high season, it's quiet (it's nice to be quiet for me)😁Oh yes, because my child is 8 years old, breakfast is charged 500 thousand 😭😭 so what can I do, apparently breakfast is expensive because of the priceless view.This resort is really suitable for those who want to relax away from the noise & hustle and bustle of life😂, it's really nice to stretch out and just stare and relax. Swimming in the morning & evening is really delicious, enjoy the sunrise & sunset. Waking up, taking a deep breath with extraordinary gratitude because I can see this seeeeiiinndahhhhh view 😭 honestly I miss coming back.For breakfast, for some reason their Soft Rolls are really delicious, so far the best soft rolls in my opinion are at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Kuningan Jakarta. As soon as you eat this here...Ritz loses. I swear it's really delicious🤤At this resort they also provide tour packages to go around Sumba to East Sumba, because we already had a car rental, so we didn't use a hotel.Hopefully this information is useful.Have a nice trip everyone💜Imas Masfufah

If you want to relax in a quiet atmosphere in a nature zone, there is nothing better!😍 This is one of the best places you can find in the world. The hotel is amazing, very intimate. Villas with private pools and amazing ocean views, which are far from each other so you have no contact with other guests - provide incredible silence. The villas are cleaned very thoroughly every day. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, but you can also order everything delivered to your room at any time at no additional cost. I would also like to say a few words about the service, which is amazing, helpful and available 24/24. Indonesian hospitality and care are at the highest level, they are truly wonderful people 😍 Warm regards to Anton and Julian, the driver of our car, the restaurant staff and the owner who takes care of everything. Now a few words about food. We tried all the dishes on the menu and it was really delicious. If you feel like eating something else local, the staff will arrange it for you straight from the local market. We spent 9 wonderful days there and we didn't want to leave 😊 The hotel can also provide you with attractions such as: horse riding on the beach, visiting the island, fishing, romantic candlelight dinner, engagement and special events for your group. I forgot to add that you can see dolphins from the villa and it is a beautiful experience 😍 I Love this place - Kamila

Wow, what an unforgettable stay at Lelewatu Resort in Sumba!This place is pure magic, truly a slice of paradise. Surrounded by lush greenery and with amazing ocean views, the resort perfectly blends traditional Sumbanese style with modern luxury. My villa had its own private infinity pool and was super comfy and stylish.The food was fantastic, with a great mix of local and international dishes. The staff were very friendly and made every meal special. There’s so much to do here – from cultural tours to relaxing spa treatments. The service was top-notch, with everyone going out of their way to make sure I had an awesome time.We also celebrated our engagement during our stay here, and the resort went above and beyond with a romantic dinner setup just for us. It was such a beautiful and memorable evening.Lelewatu Resort is the perfect getaway for anyone looking for luxury and tranquility. Can’t wait to go back! You might 4hink the place is expensive. And yes, it is indeed. And yes ist is over priced if you look at it from an international standard. For that price, you would expect everything to be in perfect condition and executed to the highest standards and well trained personnel.But then you need to see where you are. A remote, paradise like location. Yes the staff is lacking international hospitality training, but they are ever so friendly and sweet and certainly try everything to make your stay pleasant.Coming back to the initial question, is it worth the price: for us it was. It was an experience that we won't have again. But Jenny Tan, please look after the place with more love and care, it really is worth it!

I stayed 4 days and three nights at Lelewatu resort. See here bellow my personal points after trying out most things here and reading all reviews , with in mind that I have visited other hotels in Sumba already.ARRIVAL-Went smooth. We had someone to pick us up at the airport and we had a good contact with the hotel before arrival. We think the airport fee is way to high and it felt even a bit like a scam because there is almost no other way to get to the resort.ROOM:Stunning. The ocean view villa with private pool was super beautiful and the pictures don’t do it’s justice , wow!FOOD:We also liked the food but if you stay long time like us it’s gets bored and it could be more chooses for our liking. Food was always warm and brought to our room. Fish was not the best but the meat and lobster was great.FITNESS:Just a small gym , nothing special. It will do the basic things.MASSAGE:The massage was good but unfortunately difficult communication as not speaking English. For the price you pay here the massage Centre should be more professional. They started without knowing what we wanted exactly , a bit of a mess and we are used to better treatment in a spa. Massage itself was great.DAYTRIP:We did a full day trip at 1mill pp with three different stops. We had a new driver from that day and communication was less to zero , it also looked like communication between him and the hotel was minimum as we had to call the manager of the hotel to help us out at one point , don’t think they will be a guide and explain you things ( which for this price should be the case) they just bring you around and wait for you. Not really worth it. Should be way better organized as we had to call them for few things in the way because no communication. Should have done better between hotel and driver as they provide this tour from them hotel but didnt look well organized or deeply thought through.OVERALL ECXPERIENCEIt is a beautiful place and the people that work there truely have the best of heart with what they know and can. They always smiled and gave us the best to offer but they can only do so much. The owner should make sure they are trained properly.We felt like there was not a lot of people working here and as only guest it also leaves a weird feeling.What shocked me the most and is the first time experience in Sumba is NO malaria or dengue protocol in any part of the hotel. I find that absurd for your guests to have no clue if they take protocol or not. In all other hotels I have been this was everywhere. Makes me question if they care for safety of guests ( in with some reviews already saying it too) it is a serious matter and should not be gone over slightly!We really liked the resort but feel like it doesn’t live up to its potential as there is a lack of effort in many places. With resorts like Nihi just around the corner and other big known resorts they should step it up as just having a beautiful looking place is not enough to make people enjoy it.I hope you are open from learning and really improving it for the best as we had a great time but see a lot of things open for improvement too.All the best

We stayed at One Bedroom Pool Villa Ocean View. Since we only have 1 night left, we stayed only 1 night, regretfully. If possible, we want to extend. We really enjoy our short stay at Lele Watu. Private, calm, relax. Nice hospitality of the staffs, clean & comfortable room, nice breakfast & meals, buggy provided, nice swimming pool ( both out pool n private pool ). We hiked down to the beach, nice & unique beach with the rocks. Unfortunately, access to dock & other beach was closed. Also access for hiking also closed. Hopefully those access will be accessible, when we visit Lele Watu next time. We'd love to visit Lele Watu again, see you soon ...😄
