Excellent welcome to Lavalon, warm and generous.Edwin goes out of his way to make your stay a success. Simple and super clean rooms at an unbeatable price. The one on the corner has a lovely view of the sea. Nice little garden for sipping a Bintang while watching the children play on the beach in the late afternoon. And… Edwin’s cooking is delicious! I enjoyed a dish made from banana flowers.Edwin is also a guide and knows Timor and the entire region perfectly. He gives lots of excellent advice for discovering and enjoying his island (and others too).I highly recommend. Super simple, just contact Edwin by WhatsApp

Perfect place for budget travellers and/or backpackers:- central location (close to pasar malam, sunset viewpont…)- cheap prices, 150-200k.- decent rooms: 1 double room with fan only and 1 double room with AC and fan, bathroom with hot water.- good advice on and able to organise trips around Kupang, Timor and beyond.

Seaview rooms, great host and great food!!I had to stay in kupang just for 1night but ended up staying one more night and now i always transit in Kupang and stay at Lavalon! Such good price quality!! It feels amazing to wake up with the sound of the waves and a delicious pankake made by Edwin! Edwin is super nice, a great host and amazing cook - loved the squid and the fish, moringa soup, the heart of banana and the omelettes!He is the real east indonesian encyclopedia, knows all the best deals and can arrange and book anything for you!The room is cozy and clean with hot shower. I never had to turn on the air con, the fan is perfectly enough and you can feel the breeze from the sea :)Hope to come back more times for a calm stay with a nice beer and conversation with Edwim! We had a lovely stay!! The location is beautiful, overlooking the beach and near the night market (amazing bbq'ed fish), rooms are very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious! Edwin is a wonderful host and made us so welcome, and was a great source of info about Kupang and Timor. Would have stayed longer if we could! Definitely recommend and thanks for a great stay :)

I stayed 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay. Nice location, clean room with hot shower and breakfast included. But which makes this place singular is his owner, Edwin. Always trying to make the guests feel comfortable.

The best and most authentic homestay. Edwin is real character and very knowledgable of East Tenggara island.. His location feels very homely and his breakfasts are excellent. We will come back after our trip from Rote island. Johanna & Carlos

We were having a nice stay, until when we were leaving edwin made an inappropriate and rude comment about my partner's weight. Totally out of nowhere and left a bad taste in our mouth.

Nice location beside the sea : ) there are two rooms - one is fan and the other AC but the temperature is comfortable at night. The price of 150,000 for the fan room includes a yummy pancake or omelette for breakfast and travel advice from Edwin.

Excellent stay. The room was very clean with AC and even a hot shower. The owner is extremely helpful. He booked for us very affordable bus to visit Timor-Leste. He even woke up at 4am to make us breakfast before our trip to Timor-leste started. Would definitely recommend this place.

Edwin is a sympathetic man who has many contacts. He ensures that you get the right and nice contacts for all kinds of excursions in Timor, Timor Leste, Alor, Rote and Sumba, among others. He knows a lot about that. He also knows good low-budget hotels in those places and knows how to arrange transport. You can rent a Sepeda motorbike from him.Lavalon Seaview is beautifully located, within walking distance of the center and very close to the Pasar Malam Seafood.The simple rooms with shower/toilet are clean and well priced.

This little hostel is not listed on many platforms, but it is really worth going. It is (really) the only decent, affordable alternative to large resorts available to backpackers in Kupang. The host is super kind, speaks good English and makes an excellent breakfast. The location is central (5m ride to the old Kupang city, 2 minutes to the night seafood market). Plenty of backpackers have stayed there and it shows - there is a library full of books in foreign languages, and a beautiful seaview from the main room. Fan or AC rooms with clean bathrooms, no roaches, the gate is locked at night for safety. To check availability, send the host a message on WhatsApp! Thank you again for everything <3

Seaside hotel with great view of "Captain Bligh Beach". Superhost Edwin is knowledgeable, friendly and has decades of experince. Room was comfy and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recomended!!!
