Wonderful stay after five years - Villa Sonia continues to be a top recommendation! After five years we had the pleasure of booking a room at Villa Sonia again and we were not disappointed. Our stay was again very nice. The room was clean, the bathroom spacious, and particularly important for me: the shower had enough water pressure and the temperature could be easily regulated. This was not the case on our last visit, when there was little water. This time we were also surprised with a rain shower.Facilities and comfort:There was enough storage space in the form of a wardrobe, which unfortunately was no longer a given in the following hotels. As a special treat, since we were getting married in Bali, a heart-shaped sea of flowers awaited us in the bathtub and swans made of towels on the bed. Even though we are very sensitive, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly.Service:The real highlight of the hotel is the always friendly, helpful and very courteous staff. Even for Bali, which is known for its hospitality, the Villa Sonia team stands out particularly positively. In other accommodations at this time of year the staff seemed a bit exhausted from the long season, but here we always felt warmly welcome.Breakfast:We liked the breakfast. There was a selection of food that you would expect for dinner in Germany, but that is common in Bali. Additionally there were pancakes, fresh fruit, toast and other delicious options.Location:There are plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities on site. The only downside is the traffic in Ubud and on the entire island. However, the hotel cannot do anything about this and one can only hope that the government will soon take measures to ease the situation for the population, nature and tourists. During our stay after a five-year break, we were a bit frightened by the changes in road traffic. The good news: Villa Sonia is in a quieter area, so you can still relax well. Conclusion:I hope that with this recommendation I was able to help you get closer to Villa Sonia. For us it remains a top recommendation in Ubud!

Very nice hotel south of Ubud in a quieter location than the city center. The room was very good, but the breakfast was not very good for a hotel of this standard, which is a shame.

Very kind staff, always ready to help. They clean the rooms every day and ensure protection against mosquitoes every night. It’s a beautiful place with lots of free space and beautiful plants, which they take care of.The rooms have everything you need and include mineral water in glass bottles every day.

Superb hotel, well located, close to the center of Ubud by Grab and far enough away to be completely quiet. The setting is splendid (banana trees, fruit trees and magnificent flowers)Tropical atmosphere, breakfast on the edge of the swimming pool high up (for photos it's splendid). Spacious rooms, top team...We fell ill before our arrival but our condition got worse, the hotel contacted the clinic within the hour and took care of the in-room meal service... really great! We thank them. The pros: the setting, the cleanliness of the rooms, the clean swimming pools, the food, the smiles and the exceptional welcome, the hotel SPA too! 2 swimming pools, one more discreet and the other in the center but few people. Wide opening hours to take advantage of it.The -: the breakfast is very good but it could lack a little sweetness for French people accustomed to sweets ;)
