Suzi's Beach House

The host is a very nice person, polite, available for everything and a really good surfer and teacher, we had the best surf session ever in an amazing place. Also you can find the best food in Tuapejat here. Strongly recommended!

We didn’t sleep here but we went out surfing with Fian for two days straight. It was just perfect, Fian took us to an amazing spot, perfect for beginners/intermediate and enjoyed it so much!We also had lunch twice after the surfing sessions and it was hands down the best food on the island. Rice, fish, eggs, tomatoes, all fresh stuff greatly cooked in the kitchen.I can only recommend Fian and his family and can’t wait to be back here!

We didn't stay here, but during a conversation the manager kindly offered to book the ferry for us, something our hotel didn't even do. Thanks to him we were able to take the ferry which was full. Thank you for your kindness and service.

Water play area for children

We already stayed here twice and If you looking for clean, nice affordable Mentawai accommodation with very helpful staff, this is best place we could find around. So look no further! Fian and his family are amazing hosts! The beds are comfortable, linen very clean and smell nice (not too much of synthetic detergent and no damp smell, which is very common problems in many local guest houses). Food Suzy cook is very good also and you can request something to your liking as well! Just bring snacks if you coming for longer time and haven’t traveled in far away destinations of Indonesia as island does not have western food stores.

Do yourself a favor and just book it already! No need to keep looking around.Suzi’s was incredible! We were there for 5 days and I wish we could’ve stayed longer.The rooms were really clean and spacious, the mattress was really comfortable, and the sheets were really soft and cozy. The bathroom was great too and the shower pressure was phenomenal.Fian, Nandi, Lola, Suzi, and the rest of the crew were amazing hosts! They really take care of you and make you feel at home. They’ll help you with anything, whether it’s procuring a motorbike for ya, taking you out surfing anytime you want, having Suzi cook a delicious meal of whatever you want whenever you’re hungry, or just hanging around, chatting it up, and laughing all the time.The Mentawai’s don’t have to break the bank and Suzi’s proves it.Fian was an incredible host and when it came to going out and surfing he and Nandi were on it! Always on top of the report, the tides, the wind, and letting you know when the best time would be to go and where. He also brought us to some of the neighboring islands for a day of cruisin through paradise and it was unreal!Nandi takes fantastic photos too! Whether it’s with his professional camera or with your iPhone, he’s always there to get the shot. He’s also a super chill guy and they’re both crazy easy to talk to.We’re really grateful and can’t wait to come back and spend some more time with these guys on this incredible island!

We had the best time with Fian and Nandi at the Mentawai Islands! The best thing for us was that we are beginner surfers and that this was one of the only places we could take lessons and rent a board! Every morning we went with the boat from Fian to the Telescope wave and he helped us catch some waves, which was an amazing experience to us! Nandi even took pictures of us while catching the waves :) Please note the waves are only surfeable for beginners in low season ❤️We also went on a lovely boat trip to some other islands and the nature + blue water was insane!We definitely loved this place and are happy to share that Mentawai can also be explored by beginner surfers and is also suitable for more adventurous guests without crazy budgets!The accomodation and room was super clean, new and nice.Thanks again Fian and Nandi 🏄

What an amazing place and family who run it! First of all I need to mentioned that owner Fian let us reschedule our stay because our flight was cancelled due to volcano and we arrived later than our original booking. The place, the food, the hosting- everything was perfect for us! If you think Mentawai can only be expensive- try this place- it can be very comfortable base whiles you exploring around. The guesthouse is brand new, very bright and super clean. Nice crisp white sheets, towels and yellow lightbulbs(not that intense blue white that most local places have). Every time I stepped into kitchen I found everything super clean. And home made food was really good: we had fruit and eggs for breakfast and fish with veg for dinner. Fian also was great host and helped us organise everything we needed, took us on boat trip and all what we wanted. Highly recommend this place!
