Awera Resort (Mentawai surf Resort)

Unfortunately I have to give only one star, as the resort, which I found very very beautiful and well-kept, did not fully satisfy our needs.I continue with the positive things by applauding the entire Indonesian team who were always smiling, helpful, precise and even remembering our names by heart, the food is also of good quality I must say. Very good massage centre.The quality of the transfers is also very very high and you have left nothing to chance, I have to say this too.But once on the island and in the resort something started to go wrong, and I've done a lot of travel!Now I'll explain why one star, everything else seemed like a problem, go on a trip, go surfing, take a SUP!!We suffered a lot from the fact that there always had to be approvals from the upper management to do something, but above all having gone there for the Surf I found the Crew, among other things three twenty-year-old kids, very disorganised, for nothing empathetic and blissfully minding her own business every day.Furthermore, this discomfort of zero empathy carried over to meal times as they very often occupied the nicest tables intended for those who were truly on holiday and paid to be there, without anyone telling them anything. Going surfing wasn't a joy, because the crew was always not happy and didn't drag you into the joy of going and doing something beautiful. Furthermore, something never seen in my surfing trips, at least not in this exaggerated way, you found the whole boat in the water, both the guides and the 3/4 Indonesian guys who were carrying it. So you went back to the water, having paid a lot of money among other things, with five people who were supposed to be your friends who took the waves without ever leaving one, Not that there was any need, but it never happened to me that I had to do the race with someone who was part of my resort!Even the yoga teacher wasn't exactly happiness personified, as well as the quality of the Yoga was highly poor.We experienced it a little badly because there was this little, or rather no, empathy thereNo desire to be dragged into the middle of doing something every day, I repeat except for the Indonesian team that worked there who were always very smiling and helpful.I would try to work a little more on understanding what a customer really needs.

A slice of paradise. Such a beautiful resort, well run, top quality food, great surf and yoga guides. The staff are amazing, so friendly and attentive. Can highly recommend staying here. Remember to check the ferry to Mentawaii as it only goes every 2nd day. Hopefully will be back soon!

This is a top resort. I stayed there 7 years ago and its transformation has been spectacular, at an exquisite level of detail. Reception, accommodation, food, services, attention, everything is first class. Ideal for families or friends looking for a quiet place to rest, surf, snorkel, paddle surf, yoga, etc. If you are a surfer you have good options with waves from easy to charger level, to different sea and wind orientations. The management and ownership of the hotel is on top of all the details to make your stay pleasant. It is well oriented and unlike other places in Mentawai, there are hardly any mosquitoes. Internet top by Stalink. I recommend 100%.

We spent our honeymoon at Awera and this is without a doubt the best resort of the Mentawais. Amazing location next to some of the best waves in the planet, the villas are fenomenal, the food is delicious and the staff is very kind and helpful. We’ll be back next year!

We went to Awera for half of our honeymoon and found ourselves having to extend as we absolutely fell in love with the place. This resort is the best one we’ve been to so far. Staff and service are phenomenal, always smiling. Ricardo the GM made us feel right at home and made our experience 10/10. Will be back every year from now on!! Such a special place 🫶🏻

We are just about to end our stay in Awera Resort, after amazing 5 days with our son, 10 years old! Everything was amazing - rooms with A/C, food top notch (mahi mahi fish my personal highlight), service! We are beginner-intermediate surfers and had great team coaching us and taking us to the right spots! Special thanks to our surf coach, Salta Umar! We will be back
