I loved my stay at Tiu Batu homestay, I stayed there for 2 nights and it's the kind of place you'd never want to leave. The place is so calm and peaceful, surrounded by rice fields and a river, the garden is very pleasant. The treehouse is very spacious and comfortable (good bedding, air conditioning, large terrace with a superb view of the river, private bathroom). The welcome by Robby and his family was wonderful, he is a host attentive to the care of his guests, he speaks English very well, gives lots of good advice about the region and talks about his family's cultures with passion. He came to pick me up from the Alas bus terminal and took me there when I left. Also possibility of renting a scooter directly on site (in very good condition). The food is exceptional (a treat every day, special mention for the bamboo rice) and the spicy coffee typical of the village of Marente is a delight. Robby and his family cook all of their preparations with products from their culture and he is happy to introduce us to traditional dishes from the region.Staying in Tiu Batu is not just an accommodation solution but an experience of serenity and well-being surrounded by nature. I felt so good there. The village of Marente means “peace” and “health” and it is completely approved.I can only recommend staying at this incredible place. I would like to come back to spend more time there if I return to Sumbawa Island.Thank you very much for this perfect stay.
