AVOID AT ALL COSTSI stayed at Villa Bambuu for July and most of August 2024 and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Yes, the villa is big is well located in Canguu but those are its only positives. The villa is dirty and in desperate need of maintenance—everything seems to be falling apart. The rooms smell of mold and the furniture is soiled and stained. This place has a major insect problem— large cockroaches and centipedes and then there were also mosquitos constantly buzzing around making it impossible to sleep peacefully and I woke up several days with bites all over my face.To make matters worse, the water pump failed, leaving the entire villa without running water for nearly 2 days—had to shower in the pool. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the WiFi connection kept dropping, which was incredibly frustrating when trying to keep in touch with family back home or get any work done.The final straw was when my DJI drone, which I had brought with me for aerial shots of Bali, was stolen while I was at the villa. This is completely unacceptable and made me feel extremely unsafe.I strongly advise against staying here. The property is poorly maintained, unsafe, and far from the relaxing getaway it’s advertised as. Don’t be fooled by outdated low resolution photos from years ago, there are no rice fields anymore near this villa and most of the furniture has been destroyed or changed. Avoid this place at all costs, and instead stay in a newly built place—there’s plenty of options at this price point.
