I spent 10 days diving at Sanctum Una Una | Eco Dive Resort, and while the staff were warm and friendly, and the food and drinks were satisfying given the island's limited resources, my overall experience was underwhelming.One major issue was the lack of enthusiasm from the owner, who didn’t seem to care much about the guests’ experience. If there were only two divers on the boat, they would only take you to dive sites a mere five minutes away, and slightly further if there were three divers. Even though the island’s farthest dive sites are just 15 minutes away, there was no flexibility or willingness to accommodate.In addition, both the owner and the front desk manager lacked the welcoming attitude you’d expect from a dive resort. I didn’t feel the hospitality typically found at similar resorts. They even forgot my pre-booked cabin, and when I tried to resolve the issue by calling from the boat, no one answered or offered any assistance.In summary, while this resort may have earned good reviews in the past, it feels like they no longer care about providing a great experience. Don’t set your expectations too high, as there aren’t many other options on the island.

We spent 5 days (and 14 dives, including deep dive training) in Sanctum and we can only recommend it!The Resort is comfortable, well maintained, has plenty of common areas for resting or meeting people. The rooms are clean, the food very good and in ample quantities. The diving equipment is very good, the sites wonderful, and the guides/instructors very professional and friendly.The price of the dives is also unbeatable (we visited more than 15 centers in Indonesia and this was the cheapest!).The swimming pool is a real plus (the beach is not ideal for swimming).And if necessary, there is even good quality wifi available.

Una Una succeeds, thanks to the management of the tireless Cedrick who will help you with everything, and to an excellent diving staff. Beautiful dives with very attentive guides (thanks to Mr Un, the local Morgan Freeman, and the very sweet Ramon)! 24/7 electricity, powerful Wi-Fi. There is even a wonderful infinity pool.Unmissable trip to the volcano on request (very Indiana Jones!)If you want to treat yourself to an extra luxury, the truly special Ocean Suite awaits you!Above all: don't forget to lie down on the pier in the evening and watch the Milky Way. Among the corals and the stars, at Una Una, you can really dream!

DIVE OR DIE…Sanctum is a home stay focused mainly on diving. If your intention is to come here and do mainly this, you are in the right place. You can also get certified. If, on the other hand, you are looking for something different, I'll give you some information you need to know:The beach is very small and the corals reach right up to the shore. It is therefore not possible to think of lying on the beach, sunbathing and diving into the water.However, we did other activities such as visiting the volcano or going to see the Baju village. You can snorkel as an alternative to diving. There are areas with very beautiful corals and lots of fish.It must be said, however, that the structure, in addition to this, does not have other types of tours by default (for example we asked to go to the Baju village, they were very helpful and organized the transport). From a structure like this I would expect a variety of routes for tourists in addition to diving, as there are many islands in the surrounding area and many things to see.As regards the organization of the structure, if you want to stay here, there are very specific rules that you must respect: breakfast, lunch and dinner are buffet style, there is no menu to order from and everyone eats together at specific times (for example dinner is served exclusively between 7pm and 7.30pm, you cannot eat at 9pm). It is mandatory to take off your shoes to enter the canteen and we ask for a little help in clearing the table. Here too, if you like this type of conviviality, and an idea of ​​a holiday that recalls a community, you are in the right place. Otherwise I recommend you book elsewhere.I have read several reviews regarding the manager, Cèdrick. He has a particular character, I understand that sometimes he can be arrogant and not very nice, but he is also a person ready to solve problems and meet your needs.
