It was one of the few accommodations during my trip to Indonesia where I was satisfied with both the location, cleanliness, and wifi at an affordable price. The owner has a lot of information about Sumatra, so you can get advice or help with planning. If you are planning a volcano tour in Brastagi, I highly recommend it.Since many people sign up for tours within the accommodation, it was cheap and of good quality. However, since it is a popular accommodation, it is not easy to make a reservation.

The best thing about Kaesa Homestay was Kaesa itself, the owner is is amazingly friendly and a great host! The only info he needs is the amount of time you have in Berastagi and he will present you with an itinerary including what types of fruit to try and where to have coffee. We went on the sunrise hike to mount sibayak which was great. He also organized a driver for our following trip to Bukit Lawang: Mike was a safe and very friendly driver who taught us a lot about the surroundings. Would absolutly recomment him!Our driver who picked us up from the airport was quick but his racecar-style makes your hair stand on end.The sheets on our bed smelled so strongly of detergent that my hair still smelled of it the whole next day.

Absolutely recommended!!We stayed at Kaesa Homestay twice for two nights each during our trip.Kaesa and his team are absolutely lovely hosts. No matter what it's about or what questions you have, Kaesa always tries to help you.The homestay also offers a hike with a guide up Mount Sibayak for sunrise at a very fair price. To make the trip perfect, after the hike we go to the local hot springs :)

What a great homestay this is! Kaes and his family received us so warmly. Upon arrival, an explanation with a map of what there is to do in the area. The climb on the volcano, arranged by the homestay, was also perfect! Such beautiful views😍It felt just like coming home

Rooms were very tidy and clean. Bathroom as well. Beds were very good. We stayed 1 day longer to also have time for berastagie. If you have any questions about the organization, you can contact Kaesa. He even gives good tips, organizes the tours with good guides and is also very helpful in organizing the onward journey. We felt very well looked after. When our toilet leaked, we were immediately moved to another room. Unfortunately there is only one room with 2 beds, which is a shame. Our first room faced the inner courtyard and was much quieter. The second room has a better view, but also the street.

This place was one of the best accommodation we stayed in all Indonesia! The family that is running the homestay is super friendly and kind. They helped us a lot since the moment we arrived. If you are going to Sumatra you have to come to Berastagi and stay with them🙌🙌😊

Undoubtedly the best accommodation in all of Indonesia. Attentive, friendly, charming staff. They offer tours and transfers at competitive prices when they might charge higher prices like many other places. We did the tour to Mount Sibayak + hotsprings in a group of 8 people, the guide explained a lot, he was incredibly nice, and at no time did we feel like we had to run (at all!); we were by far the last group to return to our hotel and they still kept our breakfast. Simple but varied breakfast, good and included in the price. Good location, about 7' walk from the main street, and with restaurants and cafes 2' away. No noise Simple facilities, but part of the charm of the place and the people who stay there comes from here. All the staff including the drivers speak English and are extremely friendly. 10/10 well deserved.

Very hospitable welcome by the owner, no quick check-in but first some explanation about the city and the volcano tour, if desired. It is a homestay and the owners certainly want to convey that feeling, they want their guests to have a carefree stay.I had a room with a shared terrace with a view of the city, very nice to stay there. The room was spotless and I have experienced that differently in the cheaper homestays/guesthouses.The location is also good, a short 10-minute walk from the busy center of Berastagi. The price-quality ratio is excellent! Keep up the good work team Kaesa.

Very warm welcome from the owner. Staying only one night, he told us the essential things to see on Berastagi with his advice and tips. The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bedding. Terrace with mountain view.On the other hand, be aware that a mosque is not far away, so the call to prayer can disturb sleep as well as the barking of dogs in the neighborhood but that did not prevent us from going back to sleep. For our departure, he organized our departure for Parapat and we took a shared car. Thanks to the driver Rio who speaks English very well and made the trip to Lake Toba very pleasant for us
