The Dewi Eco Bamboo Villa

1. The road to here is a life threatening experience. Off road, narrow and super steep 2:1 hill. Normal taxi couldn't go there. The taxi which drove us to there definitely need to spend extra to fix the car.If they don't improve the infrastructure to there, don't build an expensive hotel there2. The view, the building, the swing, the bath looks beautiful, but cannot be used, only for look. Loadsssss of flies whole day long which forces you to stay inside the bedroom. They are touching your skin, your hair, your food, even to your eyes. It's a easy fix by installing some UV electrical devices3. The bath doesn't come with thermostatic system. It takes hours to warm the bath up (still cold). And by the time you want to get into the bath, the gas may be used up, and the water was cold.4. Privacy concern: there are 6 cottages here, and if you go up the 2nd floor, you can see inside the other cottages living room easily. Although curtains are provided, but it won't help that much5. The bed is small for this price. It's only a double/semi double, not a queen, not a king size bed6. Safety hazard: there is a reason for civilization don't use bamboo to build houses. On the 2nd floor, I felt the room is crooked, and it feels like floating on the sea there.7. Every steps are noisy on the 2nd floor8. The locals turn on a super loud speaker so the whole village can hear (I'm surprised the speaker is actually good quality). They played it in the morning, lunch and longer during dinner. They used it to sing karaoke. And the club down in the village next to the lake were opened until 3am and you can hear the loud music from there. Therefore, the hotel provides you earplugs.9. The food is reasonably priced. But won't expect it to be fresh. All frozen food. But you are locked down here, so no choices to go anywhere nor order takeaway10. I left a fan in the hotel, they charge 300k to delivery it to me. I requested to use post office as I was in Bali for another week. They said no post office. The delivery costs more than the fan. So I gave up.11. They offered 800k to get a lift back to the city, don't do it. What I did is I ordered a private tour online. Which you will have a driver and a car for 10 hours. It only costed 550k. I even heard 10hours driver and car was only 350k.12. They provide more duvets if you request them. Get more so you can sleep on the hammock outside, if you wish.13. There are other hotels on the other side of the lake ( near those cafes side) that have similar views. I was too bored here, so I searched about it14. Overall, we spent 2 nights here for the view. Really purely for the view only. As nothing to do here. No taxi will come here to pick you up for sightseeing unless you book a private trip for whole day.They should provide some free activity like yoga and craft stuff. Because it's bored, nothing you can do but medication, read books whole day. The bath is cold to be used.

It’s nice with a beautiful scenery and a little pool. The service is great. We would enjoy our time there if no flies or a local citizen playing music until 10pm. It’s ruin the quietness for us (perhaps not all people will get disturb by this). The food is a lot, ok and cheap also. Very fair price and value. If no flies that made our dining time like a war and music in the evening, we might comeback. Good luck with management to handle those issue :)

Do not book here. It looks great but did not have water to shower next day. Management was notified but did nothing about it. Not sure how this can be a 5 star hotel

It's my second day in Bali, and thanks to this place, I'm so happy and satisfied with the start of my vacation!☺️☺️ It took a while to get up by taxi, but the view was so beautiful that I didn't notice the passing of time. And when I arrived at the accommodation, I was happy to see the wonderful view and pretty space😆 I had a dream-like vacation for a day! I was grateful to all the staff who were always friendly as well as the wonderful view :) I want to come again later!!* Due to the nature of the area, there are quite a few flies in the morning. But you will get used to it later haha.

There are 6 units here (3 with lake + mountain views and 3 with mountain views), my wife and I stayed 2 nights in the unit with lake + mountain views.Really really cool, the price is really worth it with the holiday experience you get, from the villa design, service, friendly staff, facilities, surrounding views, lots of instagrammable spots, especially if the weather is good and good and thank God my wife and I got all of that.Apart from that, the taste of the food really suited our taste buds and the price for a villa of this class is a standard price.It is highly recommended to take the jeep sunrise package when you are there in the summer to get an unforgettable sunrise watching experience.The thing that needs to be paid attention to and understand is flies in the morning and afternoon, this happens in almost all lodging and cafe locations in Kintamani and near The Dewi Eco Bamboo Villa around 8-9 pm you will hear quite loud music, but it doesn't last long, so just be patient. Instead, you can enjoy the view of the sky full of stars.Overall, 5 stars is an appropriate score for this place and hopefully we can stay here again.

I was looking for a place to recover after 3 weeks of yoga training and this place is perfect! The villa itself is as beautiful as the photos but the view is absolutely breathtaking!! It looks different every hour! If you stay here, make sure you get up early like 4 to 5 am. Trust me, it's magical.Due to the location this place could be chilly compared to other location. Bring a light jacket with you as you will need it if you want to trek mount batur anyway.Staffs are amazing. Very helpful, always friendly with big smile on their face. The foods are delicious as well...Highly recommend. Perfect for a short stay.
