My partner and I stayed at Sumba Surf Camp with Arno, his family and friendly staff. We had the most relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The transport options available to guests was a game changer, we could surf perfect waves 30 mins+ away and others nearby which suited beginners. The food was great & healthy, the massages were the best we’ve had in Indonesia over our holiday and the rooms, pool and lounge areas transported us to a state of deep contentment. Can’t wait to return.

One of the best surf camps I’ve stayed at!A little piece of luxury on a remote island…The rooms are great, clean and serviced daily, the food was fresh healthy and delicious and the location is amazing.. with a pool looking out over the coconut palms and ocean with some great areas to relax.. Arno was a great host with a relaxed vibe and put us on the surf everyday.. definitely recommended.. thanks again🤙

Had a magical week here with my best mate, we are already planning our next trip back and want to make it an annual pilgrimage to Arnaud’s place. The space is magnificent, just a really lovely place to spend time together with the like minded legends this place seems to attract. The food was amazing, I’m vegetarian and this was not a problem at all, I had the best tempeh of my life there! Arnaud’s boat is the unsung hero of the place as it seemed a lot of others on the island were struggling to get around to the spots, not us! We were simply waking up to fresh coffee and being delivered to which ever surf spot we desired! Nothing was too much to ask and I rented a beautiful board there that was extremely reasonably priced! Arnaud and Margarita made us feel welcome like family, and I can’t wait to be back in March and August next year. Thanks Arnaud for an incredible Sumba experience. 1 million stars from this extremely satisfied customer 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Beautiful, homely Camp, really feels like a little paradise in this remote island. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are joining the owners dream of having western facility in a place where crowds don’t exist in the waves. The only unfortunate thing was that beginners and intermediates were not really catered for. In previous communication we were told groups would be separated to different breaks by surfing level, but unfortunately we were brought into dangerously big waves almost every day. Given that we’d often had to pay extra for the boat to drive to far away places which we could then not surf (which was poorly communicated) was disappointing. Overall the camp is beautiful, food is great and the local staff is wonderful! Getting tips from the owner for navigating Sumba outside the camp is tricky, but I assume the owner just wants to protect this paradise from cheap tourism. Would recommend the camp for surfers with high levels and with a bit of a higher budget.
