Best Homestay we’ve stayed in Raja Ampat.Rooms:Rooms are basic but spacious. Beds are above the ground with good mosquito nets, there are some places to lay or hang your clothes and every bungalow has 2 hammocks on the the front veranda facing the beautiful ocean. They are renewing the bungalows step by step and the new ones even look better and bigger. We had an older one which still was amazing. The facility is clean and the toilets and showers are basic but also clean. They have running water so you do not only have classic bucket showers, you do have a pipe coming out the wall providing you with a good amount of water. They try to collect all trash and keep the spot as clean as possible so we didn’t see any rats like other places have.Food:The taste of the food is amazing and enough so everyone can get satisfied.Given that we are on an island away from shops and everything the food selection is quite similar but they managed to create different tastes every day. Breakfast is Toast, Egg, Jam and Chocolate. Lunch and Dinner is Rice with vegetables, tempeh and chicken or fish. If you are vegetarian they even provide you with another option.Diving:I am a Diver and my wife isn’t so we can review both sides. Diving is amazing and it’s so nice that they have their dive center on the facility. The equipment is well maintained and the dive guides Maria, Eddi and Sandi are always looking after you during the dives. They show you the aquatic life and it’s very fun to dive with them. Every evening you plan your dives for the next days where either you can tell your wishes or ask them for recommendations. My favorite was chicken reef so maybe you also want to go there. Just for your information: there is no diving on Sundays as it is their day off.Snorkeling & Beach:The house reef is big and healthy in the back part. You can see turtles, sharks and a lot of fishes. It is beautiful and easy to access. There is a small sand beach to the left of the bungalows where my wife was sunbathing and swimming. In our situation (diver + no-diver) my wife could even join our dive boat and went snorkeling in the reef where we were diving. Simply ask the evening before if it is possible at this location and they help you out. Conclusion:Thanks you Maria, Sandi, Eddi and all others working there to make our trip feel like we are in paradise. This Homestay is for everyone who want to have a familiar atmosphere with great diving and relaxing vibes in the beautiful paradise of Raja Ampat

We stayed at Corepen recently, for 8 nights and 9 days. My partner did 12 dives while there and rated them highly. The visibility was amazing, fish of every variety , healthy corals and big clams.Snorkeling and swimming from the jetty there was my activity, as well as just chilling out in the hammock on the deck of the cabin which is right on the water.Food was very good. Varied and plenty of it. If you are gluten free might be good to take a bit extra with you.Maria and Sandi run a great dive business between them and they come into the dining area each night and discuss diving options for the next day.Sandi will advise on the best dive spot for the weather conditions the next day. Their equipment is well looked after, as is the dive boat. For those who don't dive, there are other trips available and we took a long boat to two neighbouring islands Arborek and Mansuar. The snorkeling at Sauwarandek jetty was incredible. Like being in an aquarium.Maria organised for a guide to come and take us up into the jungle at dawn to see the Red Bird Of Paradise. This was one highlight for me.A very special place.Unique, beautiful, simple, basic and as restful as you want it to be.Thank you Maria, Sandi and all the crew at Coropen for a special stay with you. πŸ₯°πŸŸπŸŸAnne and Steve

Near to quite a number of dive sites including those in Kri. The bungalow is big and with raised bed equipped with mosquitoes nets though there is minimal mosquitoes. Electricity is available from 6 to 11pm. Water came right to your bungalow during high tide. Beautiful house reef which you can spend hours on. Food is very good with variety except for breakfast, bread and egg. In-house dive shop with good knowledge of the dive site.

What an incredible week! Corepen Homestay is a gem in a very remote part of the world. The bungalows are spacious and clean, and you are right on the beach front. The food was really good and there was plenty! Tea and coffee always available to make which was a bonus. Sandy and Maria were very experienced divers and we always felt safe with them. We went to many amazing dive and snorkel spots, the underwater life is something else! We would highly recommend this Homestay :)

We loved our 8 days diving at Corepen and would highly recommend it to divers looking for a homestay to dive Raja Ampat. This a locally-owned homestay - electricity is limited to a few hours in the evening, bathroom are very basic (but clean) and meals use mostly the limited variety of local ingredients.Maria & Sandi are delightful hosts and the meals were good.Rooms are simple but comfortable with lovely views over the house reef to Mioskun & Kri.The location is perfect for the famous dive sites around Cape Kri.They also dive sites further south such as Manta Ridge, Mayhem & Citrus Reef (all recommended)They have 2 small boats which can each accomodate 8 divers but when we there it was mostly 1 boat with 4-6 divers & 2-3 guides when we were there.Maria & Sandi discuss each night after dinner plans for the next day's diving. They were good at meeting the various different interests of guests. The changing currents make choosing when to dive sites, the dive plan, and where exactlyto drop on the site very important. The Corepen dive team has many years experience diving these sites and is expert at this. Even diving the more challenging sites we felt safe with them. We saw expensive liveaboards diving the same sites and I thought we were better off with the Corepen team. There is pleasant snorkelling on the house reef but keen snorkellers will want to arrange trips to other sites perhaps with the divers.Short walks are possible into the jungle behind the homestay. Waigeo Cuscus can be seen at night in trees at the homestay. A beautiful 1 hour boat ride through nearby mangrovescan be arranged at high tide. It is possible to see Dugongs at a tiny island near Friwen a short boat ride away, but they are shy so views may be distant.
