Bungalow Karohill is the best option to stay in Berastagi. Its location is in a very quiet area and on the way to the volcano. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bathroom has hot water, which is appreciated in Berastagi. The price of the room is very adequate too.It is run by Nino and his mother Imo, I have no words to describe how well they treated us and how happy we were those 5 days in their accommodation. We shared dinners and fun conversations. I recommend everyone to stay at Karohill bungalow, the experience was unbeatable.We will return! Samuel and Amaya 😊

In Bergastagi the best accommodation for travelers. We initially only wanted to stay one night and then extended it straight away.Rooms: Are clean, well furnished with a balcony overlooking the Sibayak. It's definitely a simple setup, but you have everything you need.Location: 15 minutes walk into town. However, the so-called "Kama" buses run here every 3 minutes and cost 3000 IDR. From here you can also ideally hike up the Sibayak.Nino and his mother Imo are truly absolute treasures! Very hospitable, they speak great English and we immediately felt like part of their family. Nino is a chef and took us to the market to cook the ingredients into a delicious dish. He also has a lot of good tips about traveling in Sumatra, which helped us a lot on our onward journey.

An incredibly special place to stay in Berastagi 💛. Nino and his mom will take care of you like you are family. Not only are the beds comfy, the rooms clean and spacious and the location great, the hosts are just the friendliest people who will go out of their way to make your stay special. Nino is a professional chef, and will not only cook you amazing food, but will go with you to the market and teach you how to make it yourself. He will also give you a tour of all the amazing fresh produce they grow on their property. Nino's mom helped us arrange public buses for local prices, and Nino even drove me down to the town to go to the pharmacy when we were sick. We were truly sad to leave their place, and feel like we have an aunty and brother in Indonesia now. Definitely recommend staying here.

Karo Hill is such a gem in Berastagi.Nino and his mom are fantastic hosts! We felt at home from the moment we arrived. If you’re not short on time like we were, I highly recommend you spend more than one night at this beautiful place.Nino also offered to take us by motorbike to the starting point of the Mount Sibayak hike and shared some valuable tips for our onward travels.The room was clean and comfortable.

We had a great stay with nino and imo, lots of wonderful moments of sharing, laughter, discussions and above all cooking! I can only recommend stopping at this guesthouse in Berastagi!
