Pros · The location is absolutely great. You sleep on the water. The rooms are spacious. Ask for a room with air conditioning, that's nice. You can arrange a package: taxi/ferry, taxi only and you can arrange food (breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner). The rooms are spacious. And it is extremely quiet. You can enter the water from the hotel via a staircase (bring swimming shoes). The sunrise is really amazing!!!!! You can arrange excursions, but I didn't do that. Owner Irfan is helpful, responds quickly, speaks good English and is pleasant/nice.Negatives · The hotel could use a makeover. It's all a bit messy and, for example, a handrail was broken. The bathroom is very simple. There is only cold water, but I didn't find that a problem. The food is tasty but you often get the same thing, I thought it was fine but if you like variety then it is not convenient. By the way, there are no restaurants nearby. The journey to the location is quite long, but that really makes you feel like you are at the end of the world.

Not the easiest place to get to but Irfan the owner arranged a car to collect us from the ferry terminal (1.5mil return).Great location a 10 minute boat ride from Ora and built on stilts over the water. There’s a reef right in front, but, apart from the first morning, the water was much too choppy to take advantage of it. Much of the time it was raining too.The rooms are basic. Cold water shower. Two plug sockets. But the deck is a wonderful, relaxing place to spend time on, and it was great for stargazingWe stayed for 3 nights and arranged everything with Irfan via WhatsApp. He was very helpful and communicative at the arrangements stage but after we’d arrived communication was poor. By the end of our stay, most of my messages/questions went unanswered (I should point out I’m not in the habit of asking lots of questions and being demanding but it was basic stuff we needed dealing with). We learned from another guest that Irfan was in Jakarta. Next day we learned that he was back but we never actually saw him. Instead we were left in the hands of others and it felt like we were always left in the dark about things. My friend is Indonesian so there shouldn’t have been a problem.Shortly after we arrived, we arranged a boat/snorkel trip with Irfan’s brother for the following day, but after that it always felt like we were trying to coax information out of him rather than it being offered.(The boat trip was 900k and excellent. Irfan’s brother is lovely and we had a really great day).A few other things:- Food was 200k/day each for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Fair enough. But we had a similar thing for lunch and dinner every time. Always the same fish, usually overcooked, and half the time devoid of veggies. Breakfast was literally fried rice or noodles with garlic and a fried egg.- We were promised snacks each afternoon, but only got something on the last day after asking several times.- We were never asked what time we wanted to eat or told what time to expect anything. It just appeared whenever. On our last day we’d eagerly eaten our first snacks, but then dinner arrived half an hour later. It was cold by the time we ate it - not great - and it was exactly the same as what we’d eaten for lunch.- I understand the location makes it a bit trickier, and it’s also Ramadan but half the time they didn’t really make any kind of effort.- The mains power would often go off and we’d usually have to wait for ages, sometimes hours, for someone to turn the generator on. We paid 100k/day extra for aircon (which we only wanted at night) but we had total blackout/no generator on the first night, generator only (so no aircon) on the second night, and blackout from 3.30am on the third night.- I messaged Irfan more than once to say we’d barely used the aircon so it was unfair to charge us. He didn’t charge for it when he messaged me with the final bill. But he still charged us for snacks we didn’t get, and he added a charge for using snorkel masks on our boat trip (I’ve never known snorkel masks to be charged as an extra on a snorkel trip!), so effectively he still got the money from us anyway! It’s such a fantastic part of Indonesia to visit, and most people either wouldn’t bother or have the time, so it was a shame to be treated with what felt like apathy or indifference. I’m not a difficult guest, and am always respectful and understanding but no one seemed particularly bothered what we did or whether we were there or not. Maybe we just visited at a bad time.

Basic accommodation but stunning location over the water in front of Saleman village. Food in the meal package was delicious but limited variety. Fresh fish twice a day, always some nice vegetable dishes, tasty afternoon snacks, and tea and coffee. Breakfast fired rice or fried Noodle with a well-done egg on top. Staff were delightful.Take the food package option as the village doesn't have a lot of other options (although it was Ramadan, so you might have more options at other times). Make sure you have lots of data on your phone as the wifi never really worked for us, but the mobile signal was strong. A good headlamp is also necessary as we have several long power outages. In spite of those things, we loved being here. The village is so sweet and the people are so friendly, and the coral on this bay is the best I have ever seen. Just magnificent.

The end of the world. The rooms are a bit basic, a few more accessories would be desirable, bedside lamp for example. A small fridge would be welcome. Electrical installation to be reinforced, as well as wifi. More tourist and gastronomy information would also be welcome.

This is the cottage, not the one you often see on social media...This is a bit into a residential area but the road is for cars... until in front of the cottage area...As soon as you arrived, you were immediately greeted by the owner who was super friendly, friendly and informative 👍If you come after lunch time, you can order fried bananas (snack) at the same time as booking the room... pay for the food later when you arrive...The room price is relatively cheap and you get a beautiful view...Oh yes... you can also rent a boat from the owner to tour the surrounding islands...

Disproportionate price for a structure that needs renovation!!! In the area it is much better and cheaper in positions more relevant to the landscape expectations of the area!!!!! if it weren't for the reef in front of the room we wouldn't have stopped not even a second given that the nearby beach is also dirty!!!! We stayed longer thanks to the competence and friendliness of the boy Dimas who took us with the boat to magnificent places!!!! Too bad that then the boss of the hotel made us pay dearly.....this gentleman even wanted to take the commission on the taxi to get there and back...I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING THROUGHOUT INDONESIA FOR 20 YEARS AND I THINK THAT THIS GENTLEMAN NEEDS TO UPDATE AND RESIZE!! !!!!!
