Just got back from 10 days at Salt surf resort with a group of 11 mates. We had an awesome trip and surfed every day. Salt is located on Dylan’s right and lets you pick the best time to surf. The food and fresh juice was great. …

Salt Resort was an awesome surf camp on Simeulue. The location right next to Dylan's Right is perfect and gives you a great base to travel to all the islands waves. The food was awesome and there was plenty of great local dishes for lunch and dinner. We were also lucky enough to have the services of Mu, a local surf guide and photographer who partners with Salt. Mu made our whole experience extra special as without his local knowledge we wouldn't have seen or surfed the many waves. Thanks Salt and thanks Mu!

WHAT A BLOODY TIME 🫶🏻🌊Our recent escape to “Salt Surf Resort” in Simeulue was nothing short of amazing – we’re throwing a full 5/5 on our experience. The Salt team were absolutely exceptional and made our stay inviting and humble. When we asked about cultural expectations here, they were kind and helpful about letting us girls in particular know what was appropriate in terms of dress in the surf/around the villages. But they also reassured us where it was okay to let some sun on the skin and made us feel very comfortable.☀️Big ups to Amri, our surf sensei. This legend had all the connections we could have asked for in terms of knowing the best spot to surf with the conditions we had. He practically became part of the crew. Boat trips to “Teabags,” mopeds, surfboards – Amri had it all dialed in.Even though we hit “Salt” in the supposed shoulder season, we lucked out with barrels right outside the resort a few days. The reef there is full of life too and we saw multiple local turtles pop up in the surf - literally every day.Hats off also to the “Salt” team (especially Bunga) for organising a bday cake and special dinner for our mates bday. It’s those thoughtful touches that make a good stay legendary. And let’s talk about the food – local Indonesian cuisine and such amazing seafood. Coconuts and beng bengs at the doorstep - YES PLEASE (and we miss you).Rooms at “Salt” were our chill zone – comfy, relaxed, the perfect crash pad after a day of surfing, eating, playing cambio and figuring out the mopeds. Sealed and private.Salt, consider us hooked – round two is definitely on the cards for more surfside bliss in the future. We love you all!! THANK YOU! 🏄‍♂️🌊Em, Nels, Kay, Jom, Fin <> 🫶🏻🇦🇺

This is an ideal place to stay at Dylan’s right. Each room is private and has a view of the wave. Because we stayed there we got the wave all to ourselves because we could see as soon as the wind dropped or the swell picked up. We were the only ones staying there in October. Rad experience to have a surf resort all to ourselves. We were a bit nervous to stay here because of the reviews but Salt went way above our expectations. The food was spectacular and they met every dietary request we asked for. They serve you plenty of food (multiple dishes every meal and lots of protein). They cook their food in coconut oil, didn’t use dairy or refined sugar, and each meal came with plenty vegetables. If you don’t like fried food, you can also request them not to fry anything. They prepare fresh seafood from the island, the best rendang curry we have ever had, and made us huge plates of fried rice or noodles with as many fried eggs as we wanted. Each meal came with fresh fruit juice and fruit. They have free, cold coconuts harvested from the trees right out front. They were extremely flexible with meal times. We could eat our meals anytime we wanted. While waiting for meals it was fun to have games of ping pong.Right out front is where I found the best diving on the island. Each time I went diving, I encountered multiple turtles. Turtles that will actually swim with you. Huge advantage to staying here. Salt with provide you with snorkeling gear.Amri the manager helped us arrange anything we needed. SIM card, boats, nice brand new scooters for a low price, and went out of his way to show us spots around the island. When we were out exploring for a while he managed to find us on the road to tell us about lesser known surf spots nearby. When we had reef cuts he even helped us with first aid.Room can be cleaned as much as you want and they offer as many towels as you want. They will even change the sheets throughout your stay. The owners are very flexible and accommodating. When our plans changed they let us change our dates without charging us. Very kind and patient with our requests and questions. The place could use an upgrade to the showers and faucets but that was the only downside. If you are a low maintenance traveler that doesn’t need much but delicious food and waves, I highly recommend Salt.

Great place, great food and simply the best location right on the beach. But they should look after it a bit better or it'll be rundown in a couple of years.

Very nice and quiet location in front of Dylan’s. 5 stars to Fadly who did everything to satisfy his guests. I did not put 5 stars overall because lunches need to be improved (fried rice or noodles without much else). …
