Mery and her husband are the best hosts you could imagine. We did the sunrise volcano tour and even though it was cloudy & foggy we really enjoyed it. The rooms are clean, spacious and Mery gives really great tips on restaurants (try the BPK). She helped us schedule and arranged all transport for us. Thank you again!

The homestay is highly recommended if you decide to stop in Berastagi. The host Mery was very friendly, super helpful and gave us tips on what to do in Berastagi straight after our arrival. The breakfast and pizza are excellent. We were also able to book the volcano tour directly through Mery, which is run by her husband. Communication was very easy via WhatsApp. The volcano tour was a real highlight and our guide gave us a lot of interesting information.The rooms are quite simple, but serve their purpose. Despite having your own bathroom (shower and toilet), you have to brush your teeth at the shared sink.In summary, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this accommodation to anyone staying in Berastagi for a night or two.

Great location to stay in Berastagi. Mery is a great host that is always ready to help with transport, offers activities, and can explain a lot about the area, local transport and the Sibayak Volcano. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Pizzas were great as well. Highly recommended stay!

Me and my partner stayed here as a stop off on the way to lake toba. We spent two nights here and the family was so lovely, welcoming and very informative of the area! We also did the sunrise trek mt Sibayak and it was so much fun, Abdy taught us a lot about Berastagi and the volcanoes! Recommend staying with this family, they will look after you

If you want to see Berastagi and the surrounding volcanos 100% recommend.The work they put into making your stay comfortable is absolutely incredible. Abdy is a fun guy and a very good guide who can converse about just about any topic. Mery makes delicious pizza and is super friendly too. Both speak english well enough to answer any question you might have.It is a home stay so do not expect a hotel bar, mini bar, free bath robes or anything like that. However, the common areas do look like a hotel. The rooms are quite big and clean, there is free wifi, lounging areas, free mineral water and even a laundry service run by Mery.Berastagi is a bit bussy for our taste but on the up-side there is a mini market just next door and you can spend all day touring the surroundings if you like.

Thank for Mery for your friendliness, delicious pancakes and wealth of useful information: Where to visit, get food, hire a bike, catch transport and organise a driver.Simple, clean rooms with hot water and a fan to stay cool. I'd go for the mountain view. It's nice to wake up and see the volcano.

We chose to stay at Nachelle’s homestay based on a recommendation from our Lonely Planet guide. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and we even had hot water—a rarity in Sumatra. Through the homestay, we booked a morning hike to watch the sunrise from Mount Sibayak and were absolutely captivated by the stunning landscape and the knowledge of our guide, Abdi. Nachelle is a wonderful host who provided us with excellent advice to make the most of our time in Berastagi. Moreover, after we left the accommodation, I lost something very important on a bus, and she didn't hesitate to help me recover it! Thank you so much!

Nachelle Homestay is perfect for an overnightstay on your way to Lake Toba or Ketambe (secret and highly recommendation for Orang Utan trekking tours and less touristic than other main spots). The rooms are clean and the prices are good. She is very friendly and welcoming host. She gives you every information you need. And she makes a great Pizza (just make sure to preorder before arriving, so that she can make the dough, cause it is all homemade!!!).Together with her husband (very friendly and funny) you can do a hike up to the Vulcano Sibayak, which was a highlight because it was not overcrowded and the price more than affordable. So make sure you don't miss this even when you have to start early before sunrise. We also could order breakfast with self-made bread for the hike. It is definitely worth it.We stayed at this place for two times and can definitely recommend it! 👌 Thank you!!! 😊

We booked a basic room and it was clean and the shower had hot water. The hosts are extremely helpful, hospitable and speak great English. We especially enjoyed the sunrise tour with the host Abdy as our guide to Sibayak volcano and hot springs. The pizza was excellent too.

Thank you Mery and Abdi for your warm welcome, the rooms are spacious and very clean! The breakfasts are excellent with very good value for money! The rooftop is a real plus ✨There are also pizzas which are very tasty!!!We also loved doing the sunrise trekking climb to the volcano with Abdi who speaks French and English fluently! He is very funny and taught us a lot about nature and life in Indonesia!! Thank you thank you 💪

Loved my stay at Nachelle Homestay. The room was really comfortable and clean, great hot water shower. Mery was very responsive and helpful on WhatsApp before my arrival (booked via WhatsApp too) and then during my stay also super helpful on WhatsApp when put exploring. The info and tips Mery gave on check in really helped make a difference to my trip, recommending foods to try and what markets to go to etc. The view from the roof top is INCREDIBLE! Definitely worth getting up early and seeing just as sun is rising, I enjoyed doing yoga up there early morning too. Location is a little further out of town but it's a 10 min walk or can very easily flag down the little local buses that are always going past every few minutes. Mery will give you all the info. The coffee at breakfast was the best I'd tried in Berastagi, and I actively seek out good coffee! Highly recommend staying here.

WIFI available in the reception area. Breakfast is simple as well but enough to start the day. The coffee is great.Your hosts - Mery and Abdy - are absolutely helpful, polite, arrange trips and have a lot of tips. We did a trip with Abdy to sunrise on the Sibayak Vulcano - highly recommend.The surrounding around the homestay show's you the true life of a small city in Indonesia.The accomodation is perfect up to 3 nights.
