Beautiful place in the Toroja area. Nice room, hot shower and a very sweet host. Upon arrival we were picked up in Rentpao. A delicious breakfast in the morning (bread with omelette)

We arrived after a horrible night on a sleeper bus and Mama Valen prepared a room for us to rest in (ours was not yet available when we arrived before check-in time).The dinners and breakfasts were very good. Mama Valen is charming, a sweetheart who is always attentive to her guests. Also the price of the meals is very cheap.The bathroom is in perfect condition (something to keep in mind in Indonesia). 100% recommended for your stay in Toraja.

We had five wonderful nights in an original Tongkonan house.There is even enough space for four people.You have your own covered seating area, which is beautifully decorated with plants.The bathroom is about five meters outside the house, has two sinks, shower, toilet and is not only exemplary clean, but also decorated with plants and candles.There are fresh towels!You go barefoot everywhere, so the street dirt always stays outside.We came from Makassar and were picked up late in the evening by the host in Rantepao at the buffalo statue.The whole family is incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. “Mama Valen” in particular (the owner is named after the first-born daughter VALENCIA) fulfills all wishes, is always there and can be reached at any time via WhatsApp.We got great tips for excursions, support with onward transport and renting scooters.She is also well informed about funeral dates and “Papa Valen” takes care of the transport and accompaniment.He also offers tours to the mountains, stone tombs, megaliths, scenic rice fields and Tongkonan villages.Sensational.Without the Toraja Homestay and the warm hosts, we would have missed a lot on our Sulawesi trip.The accommodation is unique.Reserve in advance - there is only ONE Tongkonan house.Don't forget earplugs (chickens😉)

Everything was excellent: the welcome from the guests, the location, the calm and the cleanliness of the facilities. In addition, pick up in Rantepao and possibility of renting a scooter and/or a guide. In short, a great experience in Toraja!

Our stay in this traditional property in Tana Toraja was an experience that enriched our trip and the attention of the family that runs it contributed to creating an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The place is very quiet and completely immersed in nature, but it was possible to explore the surroundings thanks to an expert guide recommended by the family, who introduced us to the local culture. Upon request, it is possible to dine on site and taste excellent pa'piong and other typical dishes.PS: after several days of travel, the "Western" bathroom was a pleasant surprise!
